Hey guys... quick question. Once a checklist packet is sent back to the NVC, is there an estimated time-frame we could expect for them to review it once it is scanned in? Does it actually take the whole 60 days normally or does it tend to be a quicker process because they are just reviewing the checklist item?

Like the rest of you, we are trying to put a plan together and the inability to predict anything with them has made it merely impossible!

Thanks everyone!

I just got 2 emails from nvc, checklists all this waiting time and at the end I get checklists for things I already sent. They want birth certificates, and marriage certificates, that are the original copies all I did is scanned them. And they want police certificates from my mom from Lebanon, my mom hasn't lived in Lebanon for almost 20 years!! And they also want a police certificate from my dad from Israel and my dad left his country when he was 18 and now he is 60 years old, they both been living in Jordan for almost 20 years I sent them police certificates from Jordan since they live there! How am I going to get police certificates from Lebanon and Israel!??? Has anyone had his before?? please help me

I am getting worried about the delays and numerous checklists. I have fallen within every delayed group at USCIS. My scan date is 03/26. I am concerned because my police clearance certificates expire end of june. If my interview in London is delayed for whatever reason my police clearance will expire. How strict are they about this? Do I have to reapply for police clearance before the interview?

police certificates are required if your parents lived there more then 6 months doesn't matter how long ago. there should be a country specific forum for each one you need police certificate for and also my checklist for my husbands south African police report on the checklist it told me exactly what to do and where to go and apply for it even told me I could send someone for him. so check the checklist and see if it gives you detail information for each police report. if not go to each one of those sites with an easy Google search . if you can not obtain it then print out where it says people not living in that country cant obtain it and send it to NVC.

Hi,

Yes, the UK police certificate is only valid for 6 months and it should be valid at the day of your interview. I am in the same position as you, and I will reapply for the police certificate a month before the interview date :)

Ok.. But my dad left Israel cause he was a warrior this was 30 years ago, I don't think Israel will give him one, it says on his checklist to go to the local Israeli embassy but for sure they won't give him one! My mom can obtain one from Lebanon cause she visits there a lot. But as far as my dad he can't, it's so frustrating.

The same thing will happen to my husbands too eventually just have to get another one closer to the expected interview, hopefully it's not to hard for your country .

I would tell him to go there and if they don't give him one put it in writing.. simple fix that should be. some places you cant obtain one and the embassy knows this. but im not sure which countries so if your saying he cant get one then I would go get proof and that should fix his. and good so your mom can get hers taken care of . its a set back with these certificates they told me my husbands will take 21 days..
