Hello all,

Don't know if this question has been asked before, I actually checked but couldn't find it.

For my DS-261, I chose my self (the benficiary) as the agent. I currently live in Colombia with my husband but we decided to use my aunt's address in the US for the DS-261 under my name, so she could mail us anything through express couRier (because regular mail in Colombia takes forever)

I now believe this was a huge mistake given that it would mean that I changed my address to the US....=(=(

WHat do you guys thinnk? Any advice or opinion would be highly appreciated.

I did similar before. When i file ds-261 i select myself as agent and put my husband address under my name. But later i log into CEAC and adjusted it. If u just file ds-261 then u can go there and adjust.

Best,

I am probably really overthinking this, but my husband is a teacher; however, his credentials there will not allow him to teach in the US. So, when it asks what he intends to do in the US, I'm not sure what to put. I don't want to say Teaching because he won't be able to without further schooling, but if I put something different from his field of study will that seem odd to them?

Thanks!

After CC and interview letter and CEAC status "In Transit" received a NVC checklist.

OK, this checklist is not supprise because we use assets but the time of it IS.

so what will you need to do at time of interview? i sure hope you will get approval.

Just checked in ceac portal and it is showing 3 N/A's! Unfortunately NVC closed to confirm a case complete, can't wait until monday! Scan date of Feb. 23rd, today would be day 32.

great news....looks like it was a pretty good friday for cc's.

You can just put unknown ;)

i plan to package all the forms for onward mailing to the NVC myself, can i have my wife(beneficiary) scan all those documents required of her to me to print out, does the nvc accept scanned document, and the forms that the beneficiary completes, does that require wet signature, im trying to see if I can help my wife complete those forms here by myself ? and lastly the letter of employment, can that be addressed to 'To whom it may concern" or it need to be addressed to the NVC ? please i will appreciate if anyone can help with this

Yes, the NVC now accepts scanned copies of certificates for the IV package. The DS-260 that the beneficiary completes is done online, no paper forms, thus no physical signature from the beneficiary needed.

Yes, the employment letter can be simply addressed as 'To whom it may concern', that doesn't matter.

the bar coded sheet follows after you pay the aos fee. did you pay electronically? if you did then the bar coded sheet follows in an email. this is the sheet you use to submit all docs with. it helps the nvc match your docs to their file. you should have also got a nvc welcome letter that contains the same barcode. either one of these is acceptable to use.

you cannot send in anything for a checklist until you receive notice on what they want. you will also need to attach the checklist to the new docs submitted. sending in docs only will put further delays on your case.

good luck

Hi there

Thank you so much, I have the barcoded cover page that I will be attaching to the forms but I was asking if the forms are supposed to have some kind of barcode on them.

I spoke to the NVC rep on friday and told him that i havent received the email yet and he was like this is what you need to send and you can send if you have these ready with a cover letter.

So should i still wait for the checklist to arrive in my email ?

it is recommended that you put, in ink, your case number on each document...preferably top right hand corner. if you are sending your docs in mail then you can hand write your case number but if you are doing EP then you would want to make a text box and insert. I'd wait for the official checklist in an email to arrive. Reps have been known to mess up. you should get it mon or tuesday at the latest.

Hey everyone! I need help! Scan date of 3/20. I just received a checklist email asking for the following things:

-Passport

-Birth Certificate

-Marriage Certificate

-Marriage Termination

-Canada Police Certificate

-Court Records

-Financial Evidence

Then it says: "We received your Immigrant Visa Application; however, we have not received an Affidavit of Support form. You must submit an Affidavit of Support form before we can complete your case."

I obviously sent every single thing they mentioned above as well as a separate envelope (shipped in the same larger envelope) with all of the AOS docs. Is this a false checklist? I'm super, super confused!

Thanks!
