Hi all, I don't know if this information will help anyone, but just thought I'd share. I know this time of year many people are debating sending in 2013 tax transcripts as the most recent or waiting to file for 2014. I think I saw someone say a few days ago that regardless of when you file, transcipts wouldn't be available from the IRS until after April 15. Well I just found out that's not true. I paper filed taxes in mid Feb and just yesterday logged onto the IRS website and the transcripts were ready. It was the first time I looked to see if they were there, as I'm not anticipating needing them until the interview, so I don't know how long it actually took, but definitely less than 5 weeks.

Hi folks! May I ask if is it required that the 3 recent years income of the sponsor must be above the 125% poverty level? My husband didnt had a full time job on 2012. He got his good paying job on 2013 tho. But for aos they will ask 2012-2014 federal income tax right? Do we need to have a joint sponsor?

No, they don't need to be, as long as your husband can prove that his current income is above the poverty level. I only had 4k-5k of income in 2011-2013, but my AOS packet got accepted with my current pay stubs, without a joint sponsor.

We're about to send the corrected AOS i864 document, I just want to ask if the Total Income to be declared in AOS for a particular year is the number stated in Line 22 of IRS 1040 form?

We seem to have made a mistake by "adding" the Social security benefit of my mum in the AOS. It's indicated in the 1040 at line 20b

Hi Saylin or anyone who may have experienced this. I am the weird email and checklist queen I think. I got another checklist email for my entire IV package as well as the AOS. I am an EP filer. I don't know what's happening, as I did get an email that they received our documents in February. Tonight I got an email checklist asking for ALL of my documents. I am not sure what the heck. Do EP filers get false checklists or have they seriously misplaced ALL my emails?

Thanks anyone, m

It may be a false checklist based off them reviewing your DS-260. I'm guessing it's the same as paper submissions where they don't bother checking if they've received anything or not. I'd suggest calling up to confirm though.

Hi everyone,

Just a small update, I managed to get through to NVC (called at 7am, the second they opened the line), the guy said that the processing time is slightly decreasing from 60 days. Right now it should take about 55 days for your docs to be reviewed x

First time I've heard of a rep admitting that! Maybe the times they accuse us of lying when we say we know things are getting reviewed in under 60 days will start to decrease too!

Thanks for the update. :star:

They claimed that in a meeting with AILA back in November 2014 (item 16 on the agenda);

http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/AILA/AILA%20NVC%20November%202014.pdf

First time I've heard of an operator admitting that, though. My guess is they haven't changed their scripts to avoid more phone calls for the cases that take over 55 days.

Now chronicling my experience in handy blog format at
