I have a quick questions about the documents i (petitioner) need to send to the NVC.

1) I am a naturalized USC..do i have to send my birth certificate as well or just the birth certificate of the beneficiary(spouse)??

2)What do they mean by Evidence of Income??

3)Does/Will the NVC send any thing in the mail to my beneficiary in india that she may need to submit back to the NVC before her interview is scheduled??

Thank you for your comments and advice.

how did you sail through uscis so very quickly? I was looking at your timeline and pow!!! 35 days...that's amazing!!! please do tell!!

lol I have no special secret technique, just got lucky! We got really lucky with getting the Vermont Service Center but that's nothing compared to people who are sending their documents in now. I've seen people's timelines who have gotten approved in 14/15 days and then got their case numbers like 2 weeks after that! I don't know what makes one case go faster than another...it seems to be just the luck of the draw!

Thanks so much for letting us know! Mine was Feb 12th, so I probably will get one but now I messed myself over by sending in another package today (as per NVC reps advice, which in hindsight was stupid). I panicked. Ah well, maybe a miracle will happen and they will honor that Feb 12th scan date. We shall see. Thanks for the update!

Why did the rep tell you to send it again? Did you have to send everything all again? Maybe you will get a CC before they even scan in your second email!!

I have no idea why she told me that but she wasn't very nice. I did just send it all in (I have it all in one PDF so just sent it on). I DO DO very much hope that they will complete it before they open that second email lol. There must be people who send multiple things in and still get their CCs on the original send in date. I gotta hope:) I HAVE been thinking of submitting an expedite based on some stuff at home, but I just feel like there are people who need those so much more, and I don't want to take that spot in line. Anywho, thanks!! M

2) You have to send last recent 3 years tax returns or tax transcripts with your current employment verification letter with u r most recent pay stubs

3) NVC will send P4(interview letter) to the beneficiary this will happen after when your case is complete

Thanks for your response,

I have not received any email from them yet. Everytime i call, reps always say they can't do anything until my case info entered the system. I don't even know what they mean by saying that when i already have case number assigned. Only thing they do is just keep telling me to wait. So frustrated. It has been 20 days already since the date my case number was assigned. I dont know if someone in here has gone through situation like this and would like to help me out. I am hopeless now and dont know what happened to my case. :(

It took 17 days till IV got invoiced for me. Call again to NVC try to get hold of Supervise. I hope issue will be resolves soon for you. It is scary how the system works. Some people have it faster than others, it is strange. But don't loos your hope. Wishing you luck!!!

It took 35 days to receive the case number for me. Look below my timeline, it will give you an idea. Good luck!!!

Do you mean 35 days from the date they receive your case or the date your case number was assigned? Actually I already have my case number assigned on feb 20th and it took 27 days from the date they receive it from USCIS. Now it has been 20 days already and i am still unable to pay my aos and fill out ds-261. So that means it been 47 days already since the date they received my case. Is that normal?

I am in the same boat with you. Case number assigned 2/20, AOS Fee paid 2/23, DS-261 submitted 2/23. I get the same response as you. Sometimes I get someone more helpful, they say they would review the DS-261 over the phone, but they are unable to edit the file as information is being added.

Yesterday a very unhelpful rep said to wait 42 days from the case # being assigned. She sounded frustrated and tired, very different from the reps I have talked with in the past.

I will call again Thursday.

I wish I can answer that for you, maybe somebody else has the same experience as you and they will say something. Actually the 35 days was from the date they receive my case to the date I got my case number. After I got my case number, I was able to submit ds261 and the next day aos was invoiced. It took another 17 days to get the IV invoiced. Call again and again till you talk with supervise. Good luck!
