Hello everyone, Please I need some serious advice. I have a situation I need help with. I have 3 years worth of tax returns, all three years I made well above the poverty guidelines, but because I moved to a new state I am still in the process of looking for a job. I do not have anyone to Sponsor us. We had one person that was willing to help, but they did not meet all the requirements for helping us. I am actively looking for a job, and I was not worried at first about getting a job because I thought this process was going to take Forever. (Cant believe I was wishing the process would actually slow down a bit) Now I am down to the wire and still no job, my unemployment insurance just finished. What are my options at this point. Thank you in advance for your time.

I think you are good if you send your 3 years tax return before April 15 to NVC. Do you have 2013, 2012, 2011 tax returns and is above poverty guideline? But they may ask 2014 tax return at the interview. My 2014 tax is not done yet so I didn't submit, but I will have it ready by the time for my husbands interview. I hope you will find another sponsor by the time for interview. If you have ll the documents ready you can send both the AOS and IV documents together now. Good luck!

Yes I have 2011,2012,2013,2014 Tax returns and they are all above the poverty guidelines. I also have my both packages ready but of course i cant send in the aos package just yet. I just do not have a sponsor and have not found a new job yet. I was reading that I could have used my unemployment but it just finished. So right now i am stuck. But thank you.

The NVC is most concerned about your current annual income, even though your prior years show stable income above poverty guideline.

I would either 1. continue searching for a joint sponsor- family friend, coworker, family member. 2. Wait until you find a job that can provide you with employment letters and paystub to prove current annual income.

Good luck!!!!!

You'll either need to find a job and/or find a joint sponsor. Until then, I wouldn't suggest sending in the AOS package as you can't currently financially support the immigrant.

I think you are good to go, I thought you didn't have 2014 tax return, if I where you I will send the AOS and IV now and in the mean time look for sponsor before the interview. It will take up to 60 days the case to be reviewed after you send the document, after that a month or two for interview, you may find a job by then and might not need a sponsor. See also other VJ members opinion on that. I hope all works out for you. Good luck!!!

I wouldn't call or submit any corrected info right now. If you get an checklist, it might include something else you missed. You should be hearing something soon if your scan date is January 13.

As Saylin says, I wouldn't submit the AOS packet without showing evidence of current income, as you have to include an employment letter or recent paystub with it.

They should be reviewing your case any day now so if it were me I would just wait. You have the possibility of it 1. being okay or 2.you will know EXACTLY what NVC requires to fix your mistakes and complete your case.

Good luck! :)

Your CC date is coming up this week maybe, you know sometimes they might not look the mistake and I wouldn't call them and tell them I made a mistake. They will probably tell you to wait till they review your document and send you a checklist. Let us hope they don't find the mistake :)

I need help everyone please. It has been over 85 days and no review of the checklist item I sent Dec 15. NVC representatives refuse to help or get me on to a supervisor. They tell me just keep waiting or if I WANT, re submit my document and wait another 60 days...r they serious? This is so unfair...

Anyone been in this situation before? How could I get them to review our docs?

See the link below. Somebody created a spreadsheet which shows the time frame from scan date to case completed. I'm not sure if anybody else waited for 85 days. Call NVC everyday till you get the answer, sometimes you will run into nice reps, but most of the time they are not nice. You should demand to speak with supervisor. Good luck!!!
