Thank you. Anyway may I ask how are we going to know if the nvc already received our I-130? Are they going to send email?

Your welcome.

Once your I-130 has been approved from USCIS, it will be sent to NVC (a part of the Department of State). Depending what service center the I-130 is coming from, this can take anywhere from a few business days to a few weeks. You may or may not get an email from USCIS/update on their website stating when it was sent.

You won't get correspondence from NVC when they receive your case from USCIS. You need to call an operator at NVC to find this out.

Once NVC does receive your case, it's currently taking around 3 weeks for a case number to be assigned.

You should read Saylin wiki about NVC process Here

Good luck :)

What does AOS stands for? Adjustment of status or affidavit of support?

actually it means both. just depends on which process you are going through and where in the process you are..

in this thread, AOS means affidavit of support, like others have suggested

I mailed off the financial & supporting documents last week (03/03/15). They were supposed to be delivered two days later on March 5th by noon. The package has not arrived to nvc. Last known location was that it departed Knoxville, TN on Wednesday March 4th. I'm going out of my mind!!!!!! I've called customer service and went to my local post office but all i am told is that I can receive a refund since it did not arrive on time but not until it is delivered. I don't care about the money. Find My Paperwork......... This can't be happening :ranting::crying:

Give it another few days. I sent a package (unrelated to NVC) last week on March 3 as well for 2 day delivery that was stuck in Nashville, TN for a few days due to weather conditions. It didn't arrive to destination until yesterday.

Based on a lot of these checklist that most people were getting....do not leave anything blank. If it does not apply to you, then write N/A

Yeah, its safe not to leave blanks but i would say, if you choose to leave blanks where not applicable, then do so throughout. Not leave some blank while others with N/A. Make it uniform. That is my thought given that i have seen people get CC without checklist even after leaving blanks.

Do you know how long it take for you to be able to filled out ds-261 and pay AOS fee from the date your case number was assigned? My case number was assigned on feb 20th and I still cant do anything.

When my hubby opened the mail yesterday (March 9th) the letters were dated March 2nd. He sent me the case #'s and Invoice #'s and I was able to log in to the CEAC website and fill out the DS261 right away and the link to pay the AOS fee was available as well!

This actually caught us by surprise a little because we had forecast the end of this month (at best) before getting the case numbers and such!

Have you called the NVC to see why you cannot log in to complete these?

I got my uscis approval on March 2, so its barely been a week, I have already called nvc once and they still didn't have me case.

question: does it really help at all to call to know they have case already? because the phone rep was like "it may take 35 days to get your case, so just sit tight." pretty much.

I called them many times already and they keep telling me to wait until they send me welcome package. I dont even know why it take so long for my case. They told me that all the cases have to go through quality check before enter the system. Anyone here hear about the quality check thingy? And When did they receive your package? If Anyone here has encountered with same problem before, please help me with this. I am kind of lost now. Edited by quocmy
