Depends on the country. I'm planning on it taking 3-4 months after NOA2. One month seems way too fast. It will probably take that long just to reach the consulate.

Their website (the case status checker) is down for me as well.

On a side note, people wonder whether contacting their congressman/senator's office really has any effect.

In my case as well, after contacting the senator's office and them reaching out to get a status, I was approved not even a week after this whole thing.

Somehow, I like to believe that the congressman's office gave a "kick" to get it in motion.

For sure. The real trick is finding a senator's staff member who is willing to ignore the "official processing times" (which are rubbish), and call for you. And push beyond the "official processing times" line they'll feed to the staff, too. But once that happens, when they call and if you're not asking for a true expedite (which at this stage, it isn't), it can help for sure. And it never hurts to try.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

I'm starting to wonder if the size of a file matter. The bulkier your file, the more reluctant an officer picking up that file? Theory.. But I just to know from folks who got approved if their files were bulkier.

I've sent in all phone our records for 2 yrs and receipts, 20 pics etc. it's a heavy file..~400-500 pages.

You seem to have sent an extraordinary amount of evidence, it's only my humble opinion but maybe too much, the reason I say this is I hired a Attorney who specialises in the K1 Visa, he instructed me to send no more than 4-6 photos of us together, even though I had hundreds, and when it came to phone bills showing my calls to the U.S., again I had 1.5 years worth, each month about 3-4 pages, but they only wanted 3-4 pages in total but spread out over that period, regarding receipts again I had thousands, but they only wanted 4 x A4 sheets with the receipts attached! So as you can see it was quite small in comparison, I did question this, but they insisted that was all that's required.

I read somewhere on VJ, that when they do eventually get to an individual petition they spend only 20 -30 minutes on each case and an initial decision, that might tell you something......just saying that's all.

Good luck with your case, hope you get your NOA2 soon.

I'm wondering that too. My file is very large (full of proof) and I'm looking at receipt numbers thousands after mine (seriously) and they're all approved/being handed off to dept. of state/asked for an RFE etc. i.e., being processed, whereas mine is still stuck in limbo. I don't know what is wrong with our file! Maybe because my fiancé lived here before and has visited a number of times on his tourist visa? I am in utter dismay.

Thank you, i hope we get it soon. This might probably explain the delay, doomed if i don't send enough , doomed if i send too much evidence. My file is probably scaring their most efficient officer;)

Let this be a lesson to new filers.

Hi Henley 1989, I hired a lawyer for my K1 and our NOA2 took 183 days from our NOA1 which was 2-19-2015, dealt with by the Texas Centre, so just over 6 months of waiting, hope that helps.

My Fiance and I called USCIS today because our case has been messed up for the past few months. Our case online says or NOA1 was issued on April 8th when that is the day or address change was issued. Our NOA1 was processed February 26. The Automated phone system cant even access our case so i was beginning to worry.

After speaking to the first tier of phone people when you call USCIS, they quickly discovered that yes, our case was weird and they couldn't see anything else and we need to talk to an immigration officer. We where transferred and put into a call back system for a wait time that was 0 minutes long... I entered my phone number because know more of what is going on in our case then my fiance does however no one can speak to me because i am not the US Citizen. Anyways. I accidentally hung up and had to start over from step one. After telling the first tier call person we just need to talk to an officer, they still tried to help, waste of time. Anyways got transferred to an officer who confirmed that yes, there was a glitch in our case and I think she said we are still in the February filers not the April ones (couldn't understand her). She then told us "The Texas service center is processing December 21 2014 and no case may inquire about their status until it is past your NOA1 date, good bye" and hung up. As she was saying this Both me and my fiance tried to get her attention to ask a questions on why that was the date when it has not moved in over 2 months but she hung up!!! Angry and confused we called back and talked to a first tier call person again who told us again they can't tell us anything because of our date being after the December 21st date and that that date will NOT be moved until September 31 2015 because they only change the date processing on their website every 3 months.....

We immediately called My Fiance's state senators office who was very nice and is now going to help us make sure our case is actually lined up for processing. Hopefully she can help, she said she's been doing this for 30+ years so at least she knows a little bit of whats going on and know they shouldn't be skipping over people in Dec, Jan and Feb approving March.

Anyways LONG rant. sorry. Don't know if this will help anyone, but needed to let everyone know about the not moving the December 21, 2014 processing date till September 31... Painfully annoying!! :dead:

Still waiting. They have skipped over us! It's crazy how they are making up their own time frames. They say we will wait up to six months but they delay updating the USCIS website so that it will look like their operating in the 6 month time frame. Smh TSC is a hot mess!

Hello, the same thing has been happening to me. My received date was febraury 17, but when I changed my address it says they received my case on may 5. That is the day they chanced my address. I have been able to talk to a tier 2 officer who gave me the same dishonest info about December 21st. I advise her how could that be when so many febraury and march applications are getting approve. She couldn't give me am honest answer... how do you contact your State senator? I live in Florida.
