Congrats, bet you're so happy, I've just came back from visiting my fiancée in the U.S., and I'm in a right slump waiting for my NOA2, I have almost the same date as you Des123, mine is Feb 19th 2015. I think a lot of February filers around this date, got caught up in the massive number of petitions that arrived after the holiday ( Presidents Day) on the 16th. It says on Immifairy, real time tracking of K1 petitions that 693 petitions arrived around that time,

Idk, my date received at TSC was Feb 12 and noa1 was feb 17 th. it's all luck.. I'm sure we will get it soon. Just don't know when.

Congrats to folks who got their noa2's.

Checked 15 before my case and 15 after.

There were a couple RFE's before and after my case.

There was a couple of Approved before and after my case.

There were a lot of "Case was received" before and after my case.

This is all a crapshoot. It's like roulette.

The lucky ones will be Approved any day now. The unlucky ones will be waiting for 9+ months.

I hear ya! I"m in a group of about 10 all in a row sandwiched between a bunch approvals before and after our NOA1. Very frustrating!!

Random thought: folks who were waiting longer than those around their same NOA1 date... has your fiancé ever been to the US and have the faster approvals' fisnces? I mean a difference of 2 weeks or so, not the 2 month differences? Maybe that's an extra check of some sort they need? In my *very* limited observation, it seems like that maybe possibly could be a factor. No idea of the 8+ month waits though :/

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

How are you checking the 15 cases before and 15 cases after?

You can manually type receipt numbers in the USCIS site. They are numbered consecutively.

Immifairy sends out a daily report that shows all the action TSC took the previous day. It also lists all petitions still open along with the receipt numbers (leaving off the last 4 digits). It's a great tool to see what's happening there and what's happening around your received date. But on the flip side...it can be very very frustrating when you see action close to your date then nothing for days.

That's a great thought and great point worth pondering.

Funny you should bring that up. I was reviewing my petition for the 110th time and just noticed this weekend that the guy I hired to prepare my petition (not a lawyer) checked "no" for the question "has your fiancee ever been to the US". Well, she did come here three years ago for a 2 week work conference. Hoping that's not going to be an issue.

There seems to be no logic, the more you try to work it out, the more illogical it seems.

My NOA1 date is the same as yours Feb 19th, and mine hasn't been ' touched since the 23rd Feb, we are still waiting.

To answer your question, I've been to visit my fiancée in the U.S. 4 times since sep 2013 and she visited me in the UK once. It's easier for me to visit. My visits there were long ones, so plenty of evidence! This is now drive me crazy, I'm even obsessing why my Attorney sent it off on the 11th Feb and it too nearly a week to arrive on the 17th feb.

No, I should have clarified. I mean if the foreign national *has* been to the US, perhaps that is an additional check that needs to be done. Like getting records from CBP. Maybe that takes time. My fiancé has never been to the US. Was unable to get a tourist visa. But no entries/exits to check.

In terms of proof of relationship being real....that's for the embassy. USCIS you just need to describe how you've seen each other at least once in the past 2 years. All additional evidence provided is "just in case" and to front load for the embassy stage.

Again, ZERO clue if this is right or not. Just clearing up my idea.

Oh, I understand, you mean the more times the foreign national visits the U.S., the more checks are needed, well by my logic that would prove a genuine relationship more than a fiancée who has never visited or only once. But like you say, that may involve more checks. Who knows really, I'm feeling really low now that I've gone past 6 months and heard nothing. I suppose I can at least say I've been with my Fiancée for the last 3 months, only got back last week, probably why I'm feeling low.

It is an interesting theory Catherine - we won't be able to verify it. I have been to the US a few dozen times probably and was approved quick (by TSC standards anyway)... Just one case of course...
