February 2015 filers - Texas Service Center

Hi guys... I filed from Pennsylvania. Shouldn't I be at the Vermont Service Center??

Vermont stopped taking K1s in late 2013. I know that the USCIS site tells you that's where you're assigned based on zip code, and I know that it shows up on their processing times as "5 months" (all that means is "within goal") but as far as we can tell from here, no one is actually assigned there. Unless it is special cases that we don't see too much of here (marriage brokers, people with serious criminal backgrounds....which would almost make sense because Vermont also handles cases involving violence against women, human trafficking etc so maybe they have specially trained people there, who knows).

Up until late March 2015, the country was split roughly 50/50 between CSC and TSC based on the petitioner's state. Now, 100% of new petitions go to CSC. This could change any day, or this could be their permanent solution to the uneven processing times. Your guess is as good as ours.

But, as of today, no more Vermont and no more Texas. Only California.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

Praying we all get approved in August ?

I think half of the February filers are February 17th haha. Just my luck, I'm February 18th. I guess there are so many on the 17th cuz the 16th was a holiday. But it's much more than double than any other given day.

Good luck and hope we are all approved very very soon

Thanks for answering my question! You answered it better than when I called USCIS and asked why I wasn't at the Nebraska Service Center. LOL.

I feel like my case is complicated. I sent in a expedite request 2 times and got denied. And I put in an address change because my fiance moved from Kuwait to Jordan. I am praying they send his interview and all to Jordan because his residency is expiring in Kuwait in a few days!! This is such a headache!!! I can't wait to be approved. I was Feb 17, as well.

Case was approved! It's such a relief! 190 days for us. Hope & prayers for every other February filer. ❤️

Congrats, dear, to you and your fiance.

I filed mine on the 2nd of Feb and got my NOA1 on the 4th. So many days on and still nothing but guess what, I have a lot of faith that my time is coming sooner than I know.

Since I now have my NOA2, can I already start filling out the

Online DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application

Or do I have to wait for my case number?

Thanks

Hey all, just popping on to say that we got our approval last night, too!

I was getting all of your emails about approvals starting at about 8:30. I checked the USCIS case status tracker app that I have at 9:30 and nothing.,.....and then got the email at 9:40!

In a funny/not funny twist, my fiance and I have been having a bit of a fight since Monday. To spare you the details: it all came down to the fact that we'd planned to wait until NOA2 for him to be able to do something, and he just couldn't handle it anymore, snapped and impulsively went through with it anyway (this "thing" has nothing to do with the immigration process).....on Monday morning. Argument about joint decision making and sticking to plans, and "going rogue" ensued and I basically said "just watch, we'll get the approval tonight and we could have avoided this whole fight if you'd just waited a DAY".

Well, I was wrong. It was TWO days. So, we're so happy, obviously, for reasons I don't have to explain to any of you here. But it's got this "told you so" kind of tinge to it that is just....funny. But not funny. You know?
