Help!

I've sent Packet 3 back via "Einschreiben" with signature.

That was 02/23/2015....I am still waiting for an response.

When I track the package it is telling me "Die Sendung wurde am 23.02.2015 eingeliefert und befindet sich in der Zustellung."

I wrote to the consulate in Frankfurt an email on Friday and they confirmed that they did not receive the material yet.

How long does it take for them to pick up the letter? Do they even sign for that?

It's so close, yet so far.......

Thanks for your help/support.

could it be that "Post" hasnt delivered it yet?

I´d take the German sentence to mean that they got it at the Verteilerzentrum or wherever it goes and havent even tried to deliver it. Sometimes they do that here - next country to the south - they let it sit for a few days, see if the can collect some more for the same address or area and then deliver them all at once. Instead of right away, which is highly annoying.

It will get there!

I doubt that. Usually it takes a day, maybe two days (especially when you are sending from big cities to big cities).

The status says it is "out for delivery".

I am just worried that the consulate does not accept letters which they have to sign for?! But that's also hardly to believe, because I feel that a lot of people send their material the same way.

I had instructions to send by 'regular' mail which is what I did although I was worried because the packet contained all my original documents!

The consulate emailed me within two or three days after I mailed it to tell me to go ahead and schedule my medical and interview through the traveldocs website.

Sorry you're experiencing this delay and hope it gets sorted soon.

On the whole Frankfurt has been very quick, Im sure it will get sorted soon. Im getting a little stressed about my medical on Tuesday, coming from the wrong side of the river and the traffic will be a nightmare due the Schierstein bridge closure!!

Frewchen,

how was your experience with the medical in Hamburg? Was it long? I need to go there as well as I live close to Hamburg.

Experience wasn't bad at all.

Basically you arrive, then you get some paperwork to fill out.

Then they took me for the chest x-ray. Took some blood and asked to pee in a cup.

After that I had a nice conversation with the doc, he signed me off and that's it.

To be said: I had all my vaccinations done as I require it professionally.

After that they'll send you a copy of the vaccination record home.

You need to call them to schedule an appointment. Costs 140 EUR.

Good luck :)

Thank you!

I will have all vaccinations at the time of the medical. Unfortunately we´ve got a checklist and so we are in the additional 60 day wait.

As soon as we´ve CC and interview appointment I will make an appointment for the medical.

The checklist was for the Affidavit of Support, unfortunately the box for total number of immigrants was overlooked and unchecked.

I received an email today that the consulate received my package :)

Therefore, for all the people who wonder and are in the same situation:

You can send it via "Einschreiben". It will just take some time (in my case ONE WEEK).

All the best to you...

Questions about Packet 3 (Live in Dusseldorf, Applying DCF Frankfurt I-130 for Japanese wife also residing in Germany):

Just received our notice in the mail from the USCIS in Frankfurt that the I-130 for my wife was approved. Wondering what's the next step? USCIS now sends the case on to the Immigrant Visa unit at the consulate?

I've read about all the documents to prepare for Packet 3. Will the case number/Packet 3 info come in the mail or will the consulate in Frankfurt email info about the next step?

Appreciate any help with these questions. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer. This site has been so helpful with this process!
