I had one surgically removed a number of years ago. It tested benign but I felt better knowing for sure. If you have any concerns talk to your doctor or a dermatologist; they know what the risk factors are and can suggest the best course of action for you - if any is even required.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Talk to a dermatologist if you're concerned. I had one removed in my early 20's. It was a small one between my mouth/chin and was a real PITA to shave around. I was constantly clipping it with the blade. The dermatologist removed it and even though my reasons for removal were not for biopsy he tested it just in case - it was benign.

I have had one pretty big/deep removed on my shoulder, benign and james had 2 removed also benign... it really does pay to have them looked at. First by your local Doc then if he/she thinks, they will send you to a dermatologist. Mine also asked if I would prefer a plastic surgeon to remove it. It has left a little scar that is slowly fading away and will be completely gone in about 6 months.

I also have one more on my chest that could come off but one was enough at the time, and he is going to continue to watch it but at this time it would be for more cosmetic reasons than health to have it removed.

If you have noticed one, especially if it is changing or growing then best advice next checkup, just ask your doc about it...

Have you ever removed moles?and if so...what the consecuences?

Is it risk for melanoma to have them ?is it better to remove them?

Thank you

I had 2 moles removed last week, only one needed 2 stiches. Easy to do, no big deal but the Doctor did send these off for a biopsy. Good to know the result and often moles should be removed if large or changing in any way.

good luck, Rob
