Hi everyone!!

Quick question-- our case still says "at NVC" when I check the CEAC website.

Should I assume I can't create a profile and pay fees until that status changes??

I got my case number from the NVC by phone on 3/18...

Thanks!!

We have our case complete at the NVC and medical exam scheduled at the Kobe clinic on April 23 (still waiting on the interview letter)! We were wondering if golden week will cause any delay on getting our results. The clinic website says results come in 10-14 days, but that time frame crosses golden week. Does anyone have any idea? Thank you!

Hi guys, I am from Colombia but living in Japan 6 months ago.

I need to request my police records, I lived in Aichi-ken for 3 months and now I am living in Gifu-ken. Do I have to request the police records from both prefectures or just the Gifu-ken one?

What I need to bring to request them?

Thank you!

As far as I am aware, the police records for Japan are nation-wide, so you only need to obtain one from your current prefecture. Once obtained, the certificate is valid for one year. You will need to bring your passport, residence card, and an official document demonstrating your need for the police certificate such as your NOA2 letter or instructions from the NVC or consulate.

Thank you so much!

Just to make sure, my residence card have to updated in the back with my Gifu-ken adress? I have a friend helping me calling and she said that they need the formal doc of my adress in Gifu-ken. Therefore, I need to notify Nagoya that I am moving and they will give a paper that I need to bring to my current city to register, ones registered they update my residence card and give my an other paper to present on Gifu-ken police depart. This info is correct?

I can't speak to the specifics on the process of updating your address, but I do know that you are required to update it when moving. As long as your registered address and residence card are current you should be OK.

It’s national so you will only need it from your recent address.

Thank you so much for your help! I am trying to plan ahead in other to have all the papers ready!

For your scheduling your medical what you need to present?

The NOA2 is enough? Or you needn’t the NVC case number? Or you need the package 3 from the embassy?

You need the NVC email or the letter from embassy when you go to medical. To schedule it you only need the NVC number.

Thank you so much!! Just a question, do I need to NVC email that they send when they assign the case number or the NVC e-mail that is sent when they forward your case to the embassy?

Well guess I'll join in for this. Our case for our 129F has made it in to Tokyo. But due to Golden Week it won't be delivered to the embassy until Tuesday, May 7th. Super excited, Fiancee is finishing up her DS-160 now and hopefully will have it submitted this weekend. Her medical is booked for this week too. Hopefully she'll have the visa in hand in a month or so!
