Hi everyone. We still haven't gotten anything from the embassy, so I sent them a $20 e-mail yesterday asking what is going on. We'll see what they say.... I think they might be a little behind because it took them two weeks to mail the visa to another VJer who interviewed in Tokyo a week before we did. We're really anxious about it now that it's down to the wire, I got the mother of all sinus infections two days after the interview and Kenchin has barely been sleeping.

redglasses - Yeah, the separate room part was the result of a fiance who had only gotten one hour of sleep and me talking too fast. He's not that talkative to begin with, I can't get straight answers out of him unless I ask him really specific questions and he was tired and bummed, so he was even less communicative than usual. And I have a slightly overactive imagination. Just a bit. I'm glad now that I didn't mention the OTHER room, the torture room with the nipple clamps.

Thanks everyone for your support, I'll let everyone know when we get our visa. (We've assumed at this point that we've just been approved and it's just a matter of when and not if anymore).

And Kenchin's working on the other way around. He doesn't speak much English. Not yet, at least. He really likes movies and I've got him hooked on South Park, so I've got him watching movies with subtitles (both English, so he can see and hear the words at the same time) and we watch South Part together and I try feebly to explain the madness to him. When I'm feeling patient I'll speak English to him too. I don't mind that he's learning at all because he's actually really resourceful when going to restaurants or places where he has to interact with salespeople and manages to communicate, which I appreciate.

Good luck, everyone!

Hi All. Filed I-130 in late June, received NOA2 in early Sept. (63 days). Waiting for case # from NVC. Everything going smooth so far. Plan to use all the shortcuts I can, and Sachie will eventually interview at US Embassy Tokyo (she lives in Minato-ku, so no domestic travel issues). I've read every message in this thread! Thanks for all the time and effort you have all put in, it's an invaluable resource.

Hey Mike & Sachie,

Good luck in your process. It does take a while and you cannot overlook having patience. Don't hesitate to ask any questions here as I think you are and I was in the the same boat. Whatever I can help.....

Best wishes and wishing you a speedy journey through this "mess" they call immigration,

Hi everyone...

So we finally got a hold of the embassy (I called the main line and complained that they haven't sent us a reply to our e-mail and it's been a week... apparently they sent it to the wrong address. How is that even possible?!) and they told us that our case is still under review. They said that they don't know how long it's going to take, and the wouldn't tell us why it's under review, bla bla bla. Yeah. Good thing I contacted Congresswoman Eshoo again yesterday to ask for her help... again. She was very prompt and forceful last time to get us out of CIS, I know she'll get us our visa now. I was just hoping that they would send it before she had to act.

Poor Kenchin thinks that it was his work here in the US before that's slowing our application, they kept asking him if he was a troublemaker at work or if he fought with the other employees and was fired. He was fired, but it was for no reason (secretly it was because he knew about their tax evasion and could get them in big trouble. They went to great lengths to try to scare him, ie. call up his bank and make up stories about him, ect. ). He said that they asked him those questions over and over again. I don't know why that should have anything to do with his application. Does anybody know anything about this? Why should why he was fired or not fired or whatever have anything to do with the case? This is ridiculous.

Hey everyone!

They just sent out our visa yesterday. I called Congresswoman Eshoo the day after I called the Embassy and told her what happened and what they told me and she sent in an inquiry to them that same day. She called to tell me that they promised her that they would send the visa right away and that there was no problem with the case, but we were still on pins and needles until we saw that it had been sent. Whew.

Thanks for the support everyone~! And for not complaining about my rants.

Congrats to Mike and Sachie for making progress on your case~! I hope everything else goes smoothly!

Yaay!!! Congratulations Lauraandfrogger!!!:dance::dance: Makes you wonder about the embassy that if someone who may have some influence makes a call, all of sudden things start to happen. Anyways, Congratulations, and here's wishing you both the best and also hopefully a speedy reunion.

Hi all! Glad to see things are moving along for everyone! :)

Just wanted to stop in and say hi. Glad to see lots of new posters in here. :)

Next year we get to do the removal of conditions. It will be nice to have all of this done with, at least for 10 years. :)

I saw that a couple of you are from Hawaii. How is the job market down there these days? My wife would love to live there someday so I'm always keeping an eye out. :)
