Give NVC another call... Actually, one VJ member with similar timeline with me who came from Kyoto had the same problem as yours.

NVC mistaken to give them NHA case number instead of TKY (because there's no IV interview in Osaka where actually they expected) but NVC corrected it when they sent the IV Fee Bill to the petitoner.

I believe it should be fine, by the time we got the new TKY number we also already paid the AoS Fee Bill under the NHA number too. It took about a month for us from when we informed NVC about the error to when they gave us the new number. During that time we just continued the process as normal under the NHA number.

I called Monday night and got someone who really didn't want to be one the phone. All I got was a hard time and him stating that I would need to send a letter explaining why I thought they were wrong and maybe they would change it. He also insisted that for my wife to be interviewed in Tokyo she would need to be living in Tokyo. :/ I decided to call back last night, just in case that guy was having a bad day, and I got a much nicer person who said that just by looking at our file he could tell we should be in Tokyo. He said he would submit the request for change to his supervisor and said to call back in a week to make sure it had been updated. He said it could take up to 15 days but lately it was going quicker.

just wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm glad that this has been a good place for eveyone to talk. My wife and I are living in TN. We never had any problems getting her a green card. But now we are thinking about moving to Japan in a couple of years to help her parents. We just visited them in March. They live in Kawasaki. If anyone (or your fiancee) knows of Jobs for gaigin please let me know. Also if someone knows what is required to get a good job teaching english there I would appreciate it.

P.S. My wifes interview was in Tokyo and it went really easy. However I do not suggest calling the embasy for help. They told my wife wrrong info when she called. Thankfully I knew it was wrong already. But if you need help I will try if you have questions.

Thanks for starting this wonderful thread!

One thing to keep in mind if / when you move back to Japan is that your wife can move back but you cannot. She will have to apply for a visa for you but she will need to be able to prove financial support. I know because we looked at this as a possibility instead of her coming here. You can always get a job and get a work visa in the mean time but I just wanted you to be aware of some hurdles you might hit. We are also keeping the option of moving back to Japan in the future open.

I would try the website gaijinpot.com for starters. There's usually a good list of jobs in there. Most English teaching jobs require a bachelor degree. I did know some teachers who found jobs with high school diplomas, too. Higher paying jobs are available for certified teachers and those with master's degrees. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck searching.

I just joined today and I'm happy to find this site, especially this forum.

I'm beginning to fill out my I129F form and want to ask you guys/girls out there if the example, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=examples, in this site is useful? I look through the whole forum and there was not much being asked about filling out the I129F form. I just want to fill out a mistake-free form just like everyone else, as we all know it can cause valueable time for the process.

My question is for number 2. Let say my fiance is from Nakano, Tokyo. For the address part, it is usually be 123 Street, Nakano-shi. So for the Town/City part, I would think it will be Tokyo, but also Nakano could be here. So I'm not sure what is the correct answer.

Also for form G325A I know it have 4 forms that all look the same. Please let me know if there is something that I overlooked or need to be aware of.

The checklist on this site, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide, is pretty much the same as any other site out there that discusses about fiance forum. Also please let me know if there is something that I need to be aware of from this list.

I am not sure on the address though I had to figure it out for my wife's address too. For her it went like this:

000-000 townname <- Address 1

placename-cho <- Address 2

placename-gun, province 000-0000 <- City, State Zip

I hope that helps a bit.

For the G325A they all get filled out the same. The have you do this because each of them goes to a different department or something. I know its a pain, I wish they would have set the fillable PDF form to auto fill the last three pages based on the first one. :/

Oh and, by the way, you can rust the examples and guides on this site but if you have questions make sure to ask in the forums like you did here. Also keep in mind that you should read the official documentation for each form/step as things can change and the examples might not have been updated yet. If you discover a change you should post about it so someone can update the examples/guides.

Hey,

I'm not an expert at all of this, but I do know that you should put the address where she will want her package from the U.S. gov't to go. If it's a K1 visa she'll need to be in Japan for her interview, medical check-up, and background check, so I would put the Japanese address.

As for the I129F I just filled it out as thoroughly as possible. I didn't use a sample from the website. If you have any specific questions about the form I'd be glad to try to help. I read through it 2 or 3 times more than I thought I needed to, to make sure I didn't miss anything.

It's been about a year and a half since I lived in Japan, but I think the address should go: the neighborhood/cho/machi name and number (usually it's something like tokyomachi 12-35), then the building number name and apt. # if applicable, then the city, then the prefecture, then the postal code.

G325A is very straightforward. Just fill out everything that applies to you and put N/A for anything that doesn't apply to you.

I'm sure it would still get there because of the postal code, but you probably don't want to forget to include the prefecture after the city. Tokyo's a prefecture as well as a city, right? (sorry I lived in Kyoto and only went to Tokyo once for sightseeing).

Do any of you include the birth certificate of the fiance on the initial I129F package? I know the checklist on this site only mention the U.S citizen. But my fiance insist on including her birth certificate with the package because she got the information from a few Japanese's blog saying that I should include it.

How about question 16, If your fiance's native alphabet uses other than Roman letters, write his or her name and address in the native alphabet,? Do I need to write hiragana here? Seems funny because I'm thinking the U.S. is processing the paper work and more than like they would not be able to read hiragana.

i wrote my fiance's name in kanji. she has a very difficult name to write, but i did the best i could and the visa was still approved. i'm sure you could write it in hiragana if you want.

she also kind of freaked out because she read somewhere that she needed to include her birth certificate. we didn't include hers it and it was fine. she will need it for the interview at the embassy in japan, though.

I got RFE for my BC because my husband only sent the translation in Engish to think that nobody reads Japanese at the USCIS. But, later on they asked for my BC in original language. To be safe, just send them the certified copy of BC with its translation.

Name in native alphabet should appear as in BC (Koseki Tohon ) either Kanji, Hiragana or Katakana.
