Just a quick update - visa issued after submitting additional insurance document. Finally!!!!

That is fantastic news! Congratulations! The long hard wait is over and it's downhill from here.

I've got some news as well. Just one hour and forty minutes ago my wife and youngest boarded a plane at NRT for Boston Logan. We'll be back together in just under twelve hours!

Hi everyone,

Just an update that I entered US last week.

No checks on COVID at the airport, very smooth entry. They confirmed if the address in the system was up to date and that was it.

Hope you all get to be with your loved one soon😊

Great! How was the process at the airport? Smooth and easy? Your POE is DFW?

Yes, very smooth.

There were many international students and they seemed getting lots of questions.

My POE was DFW.

Hi, just confirming... so no PCR test is required to enter the US?

No PCR test. Not even a survey to check up on our health.

So different from entering Japan.

Wife finally made it to Boston. Said there were quite a few people finalizing their visa process. No issues and no questions at customs. Took about an hour to make it through immigration. Best of luck to everyone out there. I'll do my best to stay in touch and assist where I can.

Evidence of Health Insurance - just submitted copy of the Insurance ID card as proof.

is that your current Japanese health insurance ID card?

They asked for US Health Insurance for visa applicant. Not many people were asked about this in Japan. But I saw it from the Sydney forum, people were asked quite often some were asked for evidence but most were okay by saying spouse’s employee insurance would cover it without providing evidence. But you should prepare evidence just in case, spouse’s US insurance that would cover visa applicant when he/she arrives Or one of the following “approved” plan.

What health insurance plans are acceptable under the proclamation

The proclamation lists several types of health insurance plans that will be considered acceptable under the new requirement. These include:

  • An employer-sponsored health plan;
  • A family member’s plan;
  • An unsubsidized individual plan obtained on a state market;
  • Medicare;
  • A catastrophic plan;
  • A short-term or visitor plan; or
  • Any other health plan that provides adequate coverage for medical care as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

so your evidence is a US health insurance by showing your spouse's insurance card?
