Hi everyone,

Had my interview today in Los Angeles. My appointment was at 10:50 am. I arrived at 10:35 am and was called only at 11:40. I was a long wait. The officer was firm and not too smiley. She asked me the first 6 questions which I got them all right! YAY

:)

I can only remember two lol 1) Who vetoes bills? 2) what is the capital of your State

Then she asked me write down The white house is in Washington DC and read a phrase.I was arrested after a fight with my husband back in 2013 but no charges were filled against me. She started asking me for original copy of the letter from the DA (which was submitted when I applied for the green card last year, so I didnt have it with me. Only the copy). Then she went through all my application with me. Then she asked proof that I am still married. Asked me what my husband does. She went to talk to the supervisor to see if it would be okay to just have the copy of the letter from the DA. The supervisors were busy so she couldn't get a hold of anyone. She said she was sure it would not be a problem and gave my a letter saying she was recommending for approval but they could request the original. That I would receive the letter for the oath or a RFE for the original letter. I think it will be fine! So I will wait for what comes in the mail now! :)

So I went for an interview and I must say that my interviewer was a very tough guy, who drilled me down on application and marriage. Although I passed the civic test and English test, need to wait for the decision.

Are you divorced? Were you applying under 5yr rule or 3yr rule?

3 year rule, very much married and submitted lot of documents

I mean the guy asked me twice, are you married. I said yes.

He asked me 'are you sure' 'are you sure' twice :innocent:

That's strange...Usually they grill the divorced ones. If you're married and have all the proof of bona fide marriage I don't see a reason why you've got those questions.

Thank you Jimmy. I can't reschedule my trip. You are very Knowledgeable. Who are you? ????. Hopefully I have my oath ceremony soon enough so I can get my passport.

To Carol$Tim: sorry I'm replying too late. She asked me very basic questions: tell me your address? Are you guys still together ? Who supported you when you were In school? What does your husband do? What's his full name? dOB? ...........

Nope, they grill the married ones who apply under the 3 year rule, but that guy was quite to the point guy. I said thank you when he asked me to sit on the seat after the oath, then he said 'don't thank me, I have not done anything for you'

That is spooky..Hope it was just his mood issue.

Who says things like that?

That's not being tough; it's being rude.

You thanked him as a matter of politeness. It's the proper response to someone asking you to have a seat. His response was unnecessary.

The only concern I have is, I wanted to submit extra documents which I brought with me. It included 2014 tax transcript, which I didn't submit with application initially. That was very important. I asked him 2 times that I wanted to submit those docs, one time he said 'here is the deal, only reply to the questions which I ask'

The second time he told me 'your file is too huge, and I will have to go through whole of this drama (because I submitted a lot of documents, these were exactly his words) so I don't need any more documents'.

Now I got the letter that decision will be mailed to my home. There is no reason that I will get denied (I am very confident about it). Never been out of the country since I came, even never been out of CA. Lived at the same place with spouse since I came, having a joint lease and all other docs.

The only concern is, if someone else goes to review the file again before making decision, he will send me rfe for tax transcript which was a very important missing document.

An RFE is possible.

But you did what you could. You couldn't MAKE him take the document.

Just wait for your decisions. Hopefully it'll be an approval. If it's an RFE, you already know what to do.
