Ok, so tomorrow I have my interview. I'm soooo nervous! I went through my folder with all my evidence and paperwork, like 5 times. I have everything I have left from the marriage (I'm divorced now but filled married) so hopefully it's enough. I have my appointment at 10am so please cross your fingers for me!!! :)

Good Luck !!

How long does it take to get approved after sending back info with RFE? I sent all my documentation to my lawyer yesterday. He'll send it off with any other papers he prepares. When I first filed I sent hospital records of a birth and death certificate of baby (They were not official from vital records). Several notarized letters from friends and family and ex spouse. And a 10 page letter of everything that happened in our marriage. And official divorce decree. So when I responded to the RFE I sent back a official copy of a birth and death certificate, bank statements (all account transactions), health and car insurance cards, copies of joint taxes with pics of our DL's (same address) and social security cards. We were on month to month rent so my name was never on the lease or utilities just his. So I can't send that in. I also sent another letter about any evidence that I did not have. Do you guys think this is enough evidence for approval?

I'm freaking out here people..

Hey everyone! First, thank you for crossing your fingers and thinking of me yesterday.
So yesterday I went to my interview and it went well! I GOT APPROVED FOR MY PERMANENT GREENCARD! :dancing::dancing:
I'm gonna tell you a little bit how it went:
So I was pretty nervous because I filed jointly but during the process (which took literally a year) I got a divorce. I did some research and I was prepared that they would deny me and that I would have to refile.
So with all my evidence and divorce decree I drove 3.5 hours to the interview location. I got there and the waiting room was packed!! It took around... 30 minutes for me to wait. The gentleman who was doing the interview, called me and even before we got into his office he asked me if I came here alone. I did (even though I brought my bf) and he asked me how I filed and I explained that I filed jointly but got a divorce and added quickly that I had my decree with me.
He asked me to swear that everything I would say is the truth and etc and then asked me for my ID, GC, marriage certificate and divorce decree. I gave him everything and he looked through my file.
He made a note on the I-751 form and crossed out that I was still married.
He didn't ask me much. He asked where I was from, then we got to talk about that my ex was military (he was too) and how the weather was. He then said "Normally I really dig into peoples story and their marriage but with some I don't. Guess who you are" and I answered that I didn't know but then he smiled and i answered "I guess I'm the lucky one?". He then just took a look at the pictures I had sent with my form and he nodded and said "oh yea it was definitely a marriage in good faith" and then asked if I had military knowledge, knew how to build a bomb or fly a plane. Of course I don't have neither of that :D
2018 I'll be able to apply for my citizenship.
All in all it was very laid back, fun conversation and not a strict interview. It took maybe 20 minutes.
He congratulated me and said I should get my GC in 2 weeks.

I am so beyond happy now! It took literally a year for this to happen and now I don't have to worry about it anymore! :)

I hope for everyone that still hasn't heard anything will soon and it will go as smooth as it did for me. :content:

Thank you! :) :)

Oh yea I had to follow up. I had my biometrics in July and after that it was dead silent. I was never able to check my status online cause my case number "was not found" so after a while, I wanna say October/December, I started calling and asking. And they always had to escalate me to a tier 2 officer cause they couldn't see anything either. The first time I called the lady was super rude and she told me, well it's still pending so you gotta wait. Then a month later I called again and finally someone said "Oh you're definitely out of normal processing times, I'm gonna send a request to the person working on your case". After that it took another month and I called again cause I never got a letter and they told me that I had to wait another 3 months for the person to reply. But luckily after like 2 weeks I got a letter saying it was "still pending".... -.- So I was ready to just wait. And to keep calling. But then at the end of February I got a letter for the interview. I also gotta add that I never got a RFE letter or anything. Biometrics and then nothing until February.

I'm so glad this is over.

I imagine you've been calling them as well and you're not getting any info?

yeap..first time they told me just wait, second time requested an inquiry, third time - "yeap, you are outside of normal processing time, and your case is still pending, keep waiting"...no mail, or RFE, or any updates online. Just a whole nothing :) so I keep waiting...will give them a call this week as I am getting ready to apply for naturalization...thanks for the info...time for you to celebrate!!! :)

Your I 751 is still pending? The Processing time is now April 13th, you should call customer service and request to speak with a Tier 2 officer, to see why your case is outside normal time.

We are in the same boat...pending background checks. Hubby's extension letter expires the end of April He can't even get a Wisconsin driver's license because they said he needs 6 months left on the extension. Now we are worried because he got a job but as soon as the background checks come back they will be looking at his GC regarding work authorization. What if they won't accept there is only one month left? I guess I will call customer service in the morning and see what they say. At least there is a field office in Milwaukee only 40 minutes away, much better than an 8 hour drive when we were in California.

So frustrating...
