Green cards are not forwarded even if you have mail forwarding set up with post office. Apparently they do that to cut down on fraud.

Mine was delivered to my old address after I changed it as many ways as I could with USCIS and the post office. Be careful.

As far as I know, USCIS should send any further communication to your new address after AR-11 (change of address form) is filed. The form can be filed online but do not forget to include all pending petition numbers while filing. But say USCIS still sends your green card/RFE request/etc to your old address, assuming you also file change of address with USPS, USPS should forward all first-class mail to your new address for 12 months. magazine subscriptions and postcards/personal mail and such won't be forwarded that long. USPS would not know about the content of a package sent by USCIS, why wouldn't they forward to your new address and instead try to deliver to your old address? Worst case they should send it back to USCIS citing they cannot find the recipient.

When you file AR-11 online, USCIS emails you a confirmation document that includes a COAxxxx confirmation number. You can then call USCIS and ask if they received this change of address notice for your petition with this confirmation number. Again this is a government agency, so nothing would surprise me but at least you should do your part when you change your address.

Because the envelope says "Return Service Requested" - it is not forwarded, it is returned to sender.

Ok. Better to call USCIS and make sure they receive the change of address request for the petition after AR-11. At least approval notices show up in online status, RFE does not.

I notice that April, May an June got their approvals :clock:

Looks like our process is sitting on someone's table, I am praying for US.

You are right. VSC is wrapping up the April cases. However, they recently updated their processing time to March 30th, which now officially leaves your case behind the normal processing times. You should call and ask to speak to a Tier 2 officer. He/she should tell you why your case is left behind. Try to learn as much detail as possible. Are they planning to send you RFE, have they transferred your case to local office, or it is just due to the workload of an adjudicator? and next week call back again if you don't hear back anything, don't let them forget about your case.

This morning I received this email from USCIS regarding my hubby's case:

"On 02/02/2016, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your Form I-751 to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

We have placed your case on a processing hold because the required security checks remain pending. Until we receive the results of these security checks, we cannot move forward on your case. We require the results of security checks before we make a decision on any pending case.

We cannot predict when we will receive the results of these security checks. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision in your case as soon as the security checks are complete.

We hope this information is helpful to you."

Good news and bad news. Good news you now know why it has been taking so long. Bad news no one knows how long these security checks typically takes. There is even a recent thread on this http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/578081-i751-delays-because-of-security-checks/ You should check-in to that thread and ask people about their experience.

But given that you guys applied last March, your naturalization eligibility should be coming up soon. You can apply for naturalization once your eligibility begins even though your ROC is still pending. That should force the service center to take action on your ROC. However, as I can see from your timeline, you will be moving to a different state soon. One of the prerequisites for applying naturalization is residing in the district or state in which you are applying for the last three months. So you may not be able to file for naturalization until you surpass this requirement at your new state. People please advise if know otherwise.

Sorry you guys are going through this. Hope they resolve it as soon as possible.

I got a letter today that I have to go to an interview and bring all my proof. Idk if that's normal or if it's because they lost what I sent them lol
I'm SO NERVOUS now. Cause when I filed I was married and now I'm not anymore. The letter did say "bring your spouse IF you're still married" cause there's not chance he would come with me.

Any advice????

:( I think you should start a new thread on the main forum and ask advice from everyone. Not everyone reads the monthly threads. Hope someone else had similar experience to yours and would help but there should be a way to present your divorce at your interview without changing your petition to a divorce waiver. You mentioned the letter says "if you're still married". So they are counting on the chance that petitioners may get divorced along this process. Good luck!

March 2015 filer, NOTHING yet, called CSC twice, in Dec I requested a service inquiry, received a letter saying "sorry for the delay no updates" called in Jan - no updates, called today and again "no updates, case is pending", I do not think following up and calling monthly is doing anything. Its been a year. So frustrating.

hey - movement is good.

you had copies made when you packed up the evidence, yes?

IMO -

1. bring all of that evidence.

2. bring a certified copy of the divorce decree plus a photocopy

3. bring a new I-751 with that tickbox 'divorced' ticked.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
