Yes!

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

This has to be one of the most nonsensical and 'nothing about nothing' threads of all times...

There should be a companion thread entitled 'Do you like American air and skies?'

Well guys, I'm sorry OP i understand your posting and question, but let's face facts when it comes to food in water....as it has been said before. There are people in the world who would, and actually do, literally eat the trash throw away in the US. Here we have as many choices as colors in the rainbow and if it's not what you like there stuff you can eat that will meet your requirements. I've been many places in the world with a lot less selection. As far as water goes here in the US and after having work in the regulation of drinking water I'd say we have some of the best water in the world.

Me, I don't worry about food. I'll just have another beer! Hic! :dancing:

Yes!

Yes, but I like beer better!

Try this: Reverse Osmosis System or combined with these Water Softener

The white stuff is minerals. Perfectly normal and found in every water source in the world. Even water from a mountain stream at it's source has minerals in it. Science is great and fun I promise.

Or use this which removes EVERYTHING from the water: Water Distiller

Do not drink distilled water, it leaches the minerals out of your body. I knew a man who only drank distilled water. He died of cancer. They said his body was depleted of minerals.

I like the variety of foods available, both in terms of the ingredients available and the different cuisines. I live in California, and while one may argue that not all cuisines available here are authentic, I am no good at judging what is really authentic anyway, as long as it tastes good to me. One thing that does bother me is that there are certain fruits, tropical fruits in particular that are not great here, I'm not sure if it's the climatic conditions or perhaps where the they are sourced from, but fruits like mangoes, pineapples and papaya that are available in the grocery stores where I live are quite bland, which is disappointing. We try and get a mix of grocery store bought and farmer's market produce and the farmer's market version is usually superior, but of course, they are also more seasonal, so if you're used to having something all year-around, it's going to be hard to get it from a farmer's market.

Tap waters is not great taste-wise where I live, but I've been to several different regions in the US and in some places, the water tastes truly horrid (not mentioning any specific locations). We just use a built-in filter at home and it's pretty much a non-issue.

The water here is terrible but only because in my country people usually only drink carbonated water and that's almost impossible to get here and if you find it it's super expensive. I solved this problem by getting a soda stream and making my own carbonated water. :D
