What's up with all the daily threads ?

Seriously this is getting so stupid that I don't even post in the daily threads anymore. Why does everyone feel the need to start their own thread ?

Who cares who started the thread ? There are some VJ members that I am not fond of (I don't think they know it though because I don't like to start drama) and when they start a thread I still post in it. The daily thread idea was started so we can have a place to go everyday and basically chat about what's going on in our lives. Well when there is six threads which do you go to ? Do you copy and paste your post into each one ? Do you pick your friend and go to that one ? What if you don't have any friends ? Seriously it's so confusing and stupid to have to think about this.

I say we need two people that are designated thread starters. They can communicate back and forth and figure out who will start the thread.

So if you want to do it volunteer and we can settle this.

(sorry if I sound pissy but when I want to come on here and share something I see six threads it reminds me of high school and I get a little irritated ... )

Think for now its just a game thing, how about the rule FIRST ONE POSTED EARLIEST TIME gets the hellos. Most are not by accident lately.

No doubt, it's stupid, but let's call a spade a spade - this place operates on a grade school level when it comes to group dynamics. No doubt also why it started and who among us wanted it to be. So it's those folks who need to get their act together, not the ones who start the first thread and are ignored by those who don't want to post on it who then go start their own.

Because of insecurities, it gives one a sense of accomplishment ? Perhaps even some control issues going on, as well. Just look at it as Romper Room revisited.

I agree that this has gotten annoying. Everything was fine when whoever wanted to posted it first. No big deal. Doesn't take a huge load of intellect or maturity. The "game" is cluttering up not only the ME/NA forum, but the "view new posts" option as well. I think a lot folks of VJ aren't really interested in the "game". Sorry if I offend someone, but I'm pmsy today and really don't care I guess.

It's funny that you should mention ugly. A wise woman said something to me yesterday that I told her I was going to steal. She said that this place was supposed to be a site where there was "friendship and helping each other through the good bad and the ugly. Apparently they got stuck on ugly!!!!"

I concur. Something in LebaneseMama's post made me think. Not to single her out, but I'll bet this is true of many. She said that there are people here she's not fond of, but they don't know it because she doesn't like to start drama. Well, I wonder how many people have decided to dislike someone even without knowing more about them than what they see posted here? Seems like a superficial way to decide whom to like and whom not to like. That's how you get cliques of people who agree on a lot of things, but know few if any people who are not so much like them. While it's tru that people are generally attracted to people whom are like them, postings on a message board is no way to discern what a person is really like, especially if they only post on sunshine topics, or if they are among those who are picked on and have to shout back a lot.

My PM box is full of people who feel rejected, betrayed, puzzled, and hassled by folks on this board. Some speak their peace in public, and some hunker down and say nothing. There are all types here, but we surely segregate ourselves on thin grounds. So, too, with the daily threads; they're just a manifestation of what is being felt. I look for a friendly face to be with. The friendly faces are moving away.
