Same day oath ceremony is available at our office, but not everyone gets it. It's totally local office policy--you can inquire in person as one way to find out.

I have never seen a list like you're asking about.

So I guess it might help just to ask nicely?

I recommend it. From asking at my DO, I found out that same-day ceremonies are available to the people with morning interviews. I asked at the same time if my husband's namechecks were all back, knowing that if they were not, we would not be getting a same day oath. They checked for me, got everything clear and then I think I just kept my fingers crossed for a morning appointment.

Denver does as well. I unfortunatly didn't qualify as my 3 years of PR was a week away (yeah they scheudaled my interview a week early). The officer kept saying, unfortunatly I can swear you in today (said it like 3 times, even though I already knew it wasn't possible as they have to go exactly by the dates and books).

And mine was a morning interview if that does in fact mean something...

I have the interview in the early afternoon, so please tell me some places (Dallas to be precise) can be persuaded to do it the next day.

It's not a case of persuasion--they need to have 'enough' people to schedule a ceremony ("enough" may vary office to office).

See if you can find out how often they regularly schedule ceremonies.

so you have to have "so many" people to be able to have the oath ceremony, or can it just be yourself with the officer infront of you to do that???

as when i say "so many" i mean "right there and then" on the spot if you have a morning interview

Not just anyone can give the oath... It's typically done by the District Director and those authorized to do so by the DD. Your typical run of the mill adjudicator is not permitted to give the oath...

Nope, like zyggy says, it has to be the DD or a Federal Judge who does the ceremony, so most offices do one a month or so.

They also don't do citizenship interviews every day of the week/month (at least here at POO) which might increase the odds of a same day. I think there were about 70 people in the DAH's ceremony, but only a half dozen interviews were conducted that morning.
