Several teachers I work with say Curves is great...supposedly you can get all you need in 30 minutes, three times a week. Interesting....

I'm in the health care field, and a lot of patients swear by it. You just spend like half an hour 3-4 times a week, and you do some kind of circuit incorporating strengthening and cardiovascular activities (this is what people have told me, I haven't actually been)

A friend of mine owns 3 of them. The members swear by it like some kind of religion.

At one of their locations, there's a line of 10 people waiting before they open in the morning, every day..

I phoned up for that a while ago and what I liked bout the info was the all women thing, all curvy women, definately would make me feel more comfy.

I requested extra info and it is like $85 to join then a monthly nearly $30-40 (cant remember exactely). Which totally sucks. There are weeks I could go all the time, then other weeks I couldnt. I used to belong to a gym where you paid as you went and that was totally cool, but paying that much a month just sucks (my opinion!).

Anyhow, based on this I got myself some home equipment..... was persuaded by some commercial (can you believe it!) and bought the TransFirmer. Am starting next week.... hope that is good. I think itll be cause I always enjoyed aerobic stepping.

Anyway, anyone know of nationwide gyms that charge when you attend, or will I forever be stuck with paying a monthly fee?

Yep, my wife likes to do this excercise with me all the time...of course the one bouncing gets the better of the "cardio"

well at the moment they have an offer you bing in a bag of graceries for salvation army and they waive the $78 registration fee. Then its $36 a month which is ok. i just need to get my big ole butt in shape

Yeah, you might ask about special offers. We have pretty much the same thing as Chrissy does; one of our Curves is offering that if you bring in a few canned goods, they'll waive the registration fee through all of March with the caveat you have to sign up for a year.

Usually there are several in an area. You might want to call around or see what promotions they are putting on. Really, though -- they are very good about being "normal"! Most of the women aren't super fitness hounds, which is a problem with other fitness clubs. Or at least I feel uncomfortable with them sometimes, especially since I've been out of shape for a bit.

You might look into your local community center(s). Usually their fitness programs are very inexpensive.

well i signed up today, first day is on tuesday. got a free book to read through this weekend.....i feel like this could be the start of a leaner toned me!!!

Yeah the stuck a flyer on my front door handle, i thought maybe they had noticed i had got junk in my truck since being here .but not going to do it cos i think its the DRYER thats shrinking my clothes

I thought of joining here but with moving I did not want to commit to a contract. I may join once I get to AZ but not sure. Might get enough exercise doing 'laundry'.
