I'm happy to tell you that my consulate has just received my petition file today and mailed me a packet of forms!! Hopefully will get it in 2-3 days!

Be very great full that you are dealing with Hong Kong, it is very much quicker than dealing with the consulate up the Pearl River in Guangzhou. Guangzhou takes 3-4 months to send out packet after NVC sends them the case.

Let me tell you what I did...

I sent an email to nvc like everybody on vj was telling me,

the day before that i sent an email to my consulate in hk asking if they have received our file,

then just yesterday the hk consulate replied and said they hadn't received it yet,

but just this morning, I got a reply from nvc saying our file had been mailed to hk consulate already! so I was so excited!

Then right away I sent another email to hk consulate to ask them if they had received my case yet, coz at that moment the nvc replied with a case no., I was expecting to get an reply from them in a few days.

But then in the afternoon, I got a reply from hk consulate, saying they had just received it and had already mailed me packet 3!

Isn't that magical!!!!

It takes a couple of weeks but for most of us passing through the NVC is quick. I was so happy when I got my case number. Congrats to you all - soon enough you'll have your interview date!

I wanted to jump when I realized my consulate had mailed me packet 3! Too bad I was at my office haha.

Everything seems to work smoothly for us so far!! Yayay

Wow great news. We should be recieving our packet soon too then. I recieved the letter from NVC dated January 31st that said they they would forward to HK within the week. Best of luck with the embassy and lets hope we have our visa's soon.
