Ah, yes. The second part of the God proof:

Nothing can exist without awareness.

For existence to be eternal, something most always exist.

That which always exists, must be always aware that it exists.

We call this eternal awareness God.

Isn't that a song by The Byrds?

I think it's a lifetime journey with many failings along the way. One can always strive to be better, more compassionate, forgiving, merciful, etc, without even believing in a higher being. The world would be a lot better if people were nicer to each other and weren't so revenge oriented. I take it day by day and try to be as good as I can with the people I encounter and interact with. Accept when I go to WalMart.

And that is what I consider to be the definition of a good person! Well said Spooks and cheers to you man!

I think we all get a pass when we're at Walmart.

I used to think that Walmart was filled with idiots whenever I went there. Then my wife pointed out to me that I was one of them.

The golden rule. It's quite simple, isn't it?

Very simple, yet by human nature, very difficult to do. The last time a guy preached that they nailed him to a cross.

Mr Rogers was crucified?? :o

It's because the golden rule contains an intrinsic flaw. I shouldn't treat you as I wish you would treat me, or v.v. I should treat you as you wish to be treated, and v.v.

That's what I call the platinum rule. Everyone wins.

We should treat everyone the same, even those moronicbastards that you just want to choke the livinggshit out of.

Of course, I could chose not to consider you my neighbor, then Jesus won't get mad when I take your land away from you, make you wear clothes, and put all the fertile unmarried indigenous women under lock and key, until appropriate mates can be selected.

Yes, it did happen, thanks to Father Junipero Serra. Pope is just wrong on this one:

I disagree, most of those moronicbastards deserve to have the ####### beat out of them and I would like to see it. This would be a great preventative measure for others who seek to be moronicbastards.

The Golden rule is an after Jesus invention. There's nothing in the new testament that provides that as a life guide. However, Jesus did instruct his followers to love their enemies and to pray for those who persecute them. I'm just not sure how many shots of whisky are required to make that happen.
