Gov. Scott Walker: ‘I don’t know’ whether Obama is a Christian

To the very few people that stick to their beliefs and take them seriously, I have respect. I don't agree with their beliefs, but I respect their right to have and adhere to them. To the majority of believers that talk out both sides of their mouths and change their beliefs like they change their underwear, I have none.

To be a Christian in today's world is very difficult as they face ridicule and attack from so many different directions. To stand for 'true' Christian beliefs today can cause you to lose your job, your business and even your life.

How do you know that the vast majority of religious people don't take their religious beliefs seriously?

For starters the vast majority of people are phonies to begin with, then you throw religion into the mix and it just gets worse from there. I was raised a Catholic and was an alter boy as a child, I've seen the back stabbing phonies in action first hand. The ones that preach the loudest are the worst. My life experiences is what leads me to believe that most people in general, not just religious people, are phony to the core.

What makes you think they do?

You are the one who raised the issue of being hypocritical. Your view of a Christian is a good one as long as they are seen and not heard. Obviously you underestimate them.

I may have underestimated their hypocrisy.

That's a very cynical view. Not saying you're wrong but your opinion is one that is clearly clouded by prejudice.

All I'm saying is that it's unreasonable to make blanket judgements about people you haven't met. Since neither you or I have met all of the religious people in the world, our perspectives are limited. The only reasonable thing is to treat individuals as you find them.

The fixation you lot have on platitudes is amazing. I think most reasonable people, can take what the president and others have said at face value and leave it there.

What you lot are doing is wilfully changing the context of what was said to suit your own agenda.

The one-finger display is the distinctive Muslim gang sign (most notably the sign of ISIS): The index finger points straight up while the thumb wraps underneath and presses against the digital phalange of the middle finger. The remaining fingers are squeezed against the palm in order to highlight the extended forefinger.

The extended finger is symbolic of the one-God concept of Muhammad and is understood by all believers to be a symbolic shahada, the Muslim affirmation of faith: There is but one God and Muhammad is his messenger.

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

Cynical maybe, but certainly not prejudice. Like I said, my life experiences have formed my opinions of people from all walks of life, (that is the exact opposite of being prejudice). I have found through my experiences that there is more bad than good in the majority of people, this holds true even more so when religion is involved. Religion is nothing more than a control mechanism.

Again I ask you, What makes you think the vast majority of people take their religious belief seriously?

It is prejudice because you are prejudging people you haven't met or interacted with based on limited information.

Not saying that your experiences are invalid but I think they are leading you to make an unsupportable conclusion.

In answer to your question, I don't make any assumptions either way.

I don't consider my information to be limited. It has been proven over time that my opinions of people are shown to be correct in a very lopsided way. Sure I give everyone the benefit of the doubt in the beginning, but for most it's just a matter of time before they show their true colors. Which is more often than not that they care about no one other than themselves and will say and do most anything to get what they want. I have long said that I can count the number of true friends in my life on one hand and that includes family members as well. In my opinion anyone that thinks otherwise is simply being naive.
