All right people, I finally got my CRIS e-mail at 8.20pm 02/07/07. I'm so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've checked the damn site so many times this morning that at about 9.30am this morning I got this message:

"We're sorry, but you have been denied access due to too many inquiries.

The purpose of the Customer Relationship Interface System is to give customers and their representatives access to case status information on their applications in our electronic inventory. To ensure that customers have full access to check on their cases, we use several volume limits.

You received this message because you repeatedly entered invalid receipt numbers.

If you believe the problem may be that you simply repeatedly made mistakes typing in the specific receipt numbers you wish to check, you can close your browser, come right back and try again. If you are blocked when you try again, it is because you either repeated your mistake or because your total volume of inquiries over the past 24 hours has at that point exceeded our overall volume limit, in which case you will be blocked for a period of time.

"

Funny, eh?

Well, now I got this e-mail for my I130 (obviously for waiting and newbie persons insterested):

"*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

The last processing action taken on your case

Receipt Number: WAC**********

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR

ORPHAN

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

notice, call customer service.

Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at

www.uscis.gov under Case Status & Processing Dates.

*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ELSE WAITING AND REMEMBER MONTHS OF SACRIFICE CAN LEAD TO YEARS OF HAPPINESS!

Well, the title is wrong. Just look at my signature to figure out what I meant to say. :P

Thanks boys and girls. It's been very stressful waiting, and thinking whether or not I filled out the papers right. I didn't have help from anyone. Wish I knew of this site prior to submitting my docs, but all looks well anyhow.

So what does this mean if the I130 is approved...does it mean they think our marriage is legitimate, and that we should have less problems at the interview than if just the I129f has been approved?

Congrats on the approval(s)!

I don't think the I-130 approval means anything to the I-129 as they are separate petitions. I've seen posts by people who have had issues with one of their petitions and they were told to pursue the other instead.

The way I understand (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) the 'new' process is if you've got I-129 and I-130 petitions submitted the I-129 will be automatically forwarded on to the NVC and the I-130 will be held at the service center. If you want to pursue the I-130 petition you have to pay $200 and file a form to have it forwarded to the NVC for further processing.

If you want to pursue the I-130 petition you have to pay $200 and file a form to have it forwarded to the NVC for further processing.

That's really interesting to know, the latter part that is. I've been contemplating whether or not I should pursue to I130 instead of the I129f since they are done at the same time. I've already done an I134 for the I129f though, and it seems like my wife will have to wait even longer if I do the I130. Is there any truth in that? Why would someone prusue the I130 over the I129f if they are done at the same time, besides the obvious green card benefit already being issued prior to entry with the I130?

In fact, putting benefits of I130 aside, now that the I130 is actually approved, what do I have to do to get that processed further, just (understatement I know) get an I-864 for financial proof and file an AOJ?

Just because the I-129F and I-130 are approved (NOA2) at the same time doesn't mean you should abandon the I-129F. Generally the I129F only stays at the NVC for a short time then is forwarded on to the foreign consulate/embassy. The I-130 gets further processing at the NVC - there's forms to do and fees to pay. I don't know how long it takes though - maybe check the CR-1/IR-1 forum for some info on that.
