btw, you guys with interview dates did you get any choice in dates or were you just issued one? I wonder how it is with tokyo.

I had a choice in dates it appears they only interviewed for k1 on Fridays though but there where dates every Friday available which was pretty cool we choose May 8th so we had time to prepare all documents and get everything such as medical etc

I think the general consensus on VJ is to wait at least 10 days(business days I believe) before calling NVC and also to ignore the 35 day wait time that is stated in the recorded message when calling.

The NVC number to call is: 603-334-0700 you will need: SRC receipt number from USCIS Name and Date of Birth of Beneficiary Name and Date of Birth of Petitioner There open until Midnight.

Quick question. Do we need an I-1864 form completed? I don't see anything but afraid I may forget something.

Just so you have it right off the embassy website, this is what they say:

K and Diversity visa applicants are not required to provide an I-864 Form. However, they must show evidence that they are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. There is no set for that this evidence must take but use of the form I-134 is an efficient way to provide this information to the Consular Officer.

Oh yes! You're nearly there. Once the medical results are in, you're good to go. You can submit the DS160 in the meantime and once you get the medical date, you can send the readiness form so that you're all good to go when the results get in. You don't have to attend the medical to send the readiness form. It just needs to be booked so you can insert the date :)

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number
Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere,and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
