My NOA2 start just like yours. " The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate."

Just checked ours and it says the same. Is this standard wording and a confused agent at the NVC?

I did a quick search on VJ, and it seems that this is a head fake. The file is forwarded to the consulate via NVC, so it hasn't reached NVC yet.

Yes, that's what we understood.

Actually, ignore my last question. I just realized that although that is what it states on the NOA2, our case status reflects that it was sent to DOS. It must be generic wording. Let us know the outcome of your discussion with an agent tonight. I am going to try again tonight, in the hope that a new batch has been received during the course of the day, since I called quite early in the morning. I will post if I have any joy.

We also called today, after 56 unsuccessful attempts to get through on Friday night. We got the same information - give it 35 days. So we will be calling again tomorrow. Strangely, today the call went through in about 10 attempts and hold time was 1.16 minutes.

Our case was shipped quite quickly out of the service center. Hoping it doesn't take them too long to assign a case number so we can get moving. The agent I spoke to was extremely friendly, though. It seems that it takes 12-14 days to ship the approved petitions out, going by other timelines. We just assumed we were lucky (or that TSC just knew we couldn't wait to get the hell out of there).

Hi wbeem,

Did you receive a notice from USCIS that the case was shipped from TSC to NVC? In what form - letter, email?

Thanks!

Hi, yes we did. It went to William and I believe it was a text, followed by an email advising of an update in the status of our case, which he then checked online. The case status changed from "My case was approved...." to "My case has been sent ...." Something along those lines. Apparently some people don't get the notification, despite having signed up for it. It may be worth monitoring your case status online.

It's amazing how much more relaxed we are now that we know where our petition is and that someone will actually touch it in the not too distant future.

What is the procedure for France? Can you (and is it safe to) book your medical with your case number, or do you wait for it to be shipped to the consulate before you can move on?

The lady I spoke to today said it takes 35 days to be sent to NVC, which I'd been primed to expect. She then went on to say we should allow a further 40 days for NVC to assign a case number and ship it to the consulate.

I dismissed all of the above as I don't believe this to be the case, but there was no point arguing and she sounded like she really wanted to be helpful. I will just keep calling back.

Not sure....when I called the women I spoke to said that it doesn't stay long at the NVC, but it could take up to 30 days for it to leave. I read on another thread the possible reasons for it being stuck there, one of them was waiting for consulate to have an open interview date, I think its in this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/436021-stuck-nvc-for-ap-part-ii/

This is the post about interview date: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/436021-stuck-nvc-for-ap-part-ii/?p=6601871 taken from the above thread.

It took 18 days for TSC to send ours to NVC and now at NVC for 14 days.

I know about the batching too, but I've checked on DHL and they seem to be sending a package two or three times a week, but I would expect that to cover other visa types with our small population. Just read Darnell's thread and that reconfirms that we are really just in another queue so we are stuck again. Thanks for that link, the term AP always scares me a bit but that just clarifies that it is just more 'normal processing'.

For all of us, I hope they speed up, this is painful.

Has anyone received anything in the mail, email, or text from the NVC?

I haven't, I ask because when I made my first call it said something about receiving instructions on the recording.

Since we are fortunate enough to have this website, we know we should call and obtain our numbers etc., I can't imagine what the people who are not on this website are thinking, doing, and just wait blindly.

That may explain why some stay longer at NVC than others. I looked at the link you posted and the different process may be part of the reason. Or, this could all mean nothing. Who knows.

That second confirms what I suspected. London has the petition shipped out. No interview date is in the pipeline there until the petition is received, packet 3 is sent out, forms completed, medical completed and results forwarded to the embassy. So I'm assuming this is not the case for consulates which operate on this basis.

How are you able to confirm that NVC has received your file? Just by calling and confirming if they have a case # for you, right?

There are several others earlier in the thread who had their file shipped to the consulate a few days after it was received by NVC.

Who knows is right, the only thing I hold hope to is that they are waiting for the embassy to have an appointment...because if we are stuck in queue in one of the processes how come the people whose application was received at a later date are being sent sooner then applications that were received earlier...wouldn't they be stuck in the queue as well? so, as you said who knows.
