I'm really happy for all of you August that are approved. I am NOA - 8/21/14, and my depression is really starting to set in =/ I called today and the tier 1 wouldn't transfer me to a tier 2. I have a very mild predicament I don't talk loud or rude to anyone and this lady was just going off on me. "Sir we can not comment, sir I can't transfer you." It's not so much what she said as much as what was in her tone, the lady felt like she hated me. I feel humiliated and helpless. =[

I had the same noa1 date, you will hear from them sooon!

I think I would just keep calling and again ask to speak to a Tier 2 person and emphasise the length of time you have been waiting.... you are at around 7 months which is not unusual for July/August NOA1's.. you may be close to hearing something anyway, but I would still try to call. It does sometimes take a bit more to get someone to listen to you. Best of luck.

(Also your Profile says India and your timeline says Japan... where is your beneficiary from?)

Thank you. I will try again via my Senator. My Fiance is an Indian, but lives in Japan. I didn't know which one to choose.

Sorry to hear that :/ You should definitely call again!

Thank you. Will do..

Congrats! Yeah that give me hope but the SRC number before me and after me are all processed and were K1's which was two weeks ago. =[ I feel like I won the lottery to be screwed. lol.

Hi everyone! I am so glad to be joining you over on this side?. Approved 03/12/15. My trip was great, it felt good to spend time with my Fiancé. It wasn't to hard to say goodbye this time because of the approval lol... I hope everyone is approved. Does DOS have a different phone number from NVC? Because it says on the email I received on 03/25/15 from USCIS it was sent to DOS. Good to see everyone moving to the next step.

I just called NVC for the first time. The line was busy every time I called. A robot would just tell me to try to call later. After trying 17 times I got though. I was on hold for no more than 5 minutes.
A lady picked up the phone and without saying hello or anything she asked for my receipt number. I gave it and she said that they didn't receive my case for now. She said to give it some more time.
I will call them all week and see if they receive it.
My NOA2 was on the 13 of march but USCIS only sent my case to NVC on the 23 :ranting:

We also called today, after 56 unsuccessful attempts to get through on Friday night. We got the same information - give it 35 days. So we will be calling again tomorrow. Strangely, today the call went through in about 10 attempts and hold time was 1.16 minutes.

Our case was shipped quite quickly out of the service center. Hoping it doesn't take them too long to assign a case number so we can get moving. The agent I spoke to was extremely friendly, though. It seems that it takes 12-14 days to ship the approved petitions out, going by other timelines. We just assumed we were lucky (or that TSC just knew we couldn't wait to get the hell out of there).

Are you guys immediately hitting redial after every call that doesn't get through?

I don't think it has taken me more than 5 consecutive redials in a row to get through, and I called on 5 separate occasions.

Today was quick. Yes, consecutive redials worked. Perhaps I picked a really bad time on Friday night, but I will change my strategy. Today was quick and I called at around 9 am EST.

It's amazing how much more relaxed we are now that we know where our petition is and that someone will actually touch it in the not too distant future.

What is the procedure for France? Can you (and is it safe to) book your medical with your case number, or do you wait for it to be shipped to the consulate before you can move on?

Hi all,

I just had a really weird conversation with the lady at the NVC. I called them to find if they have received my petition and if I can get a case number (was shipped from TSC on 3/23). First, she asked me for my Receipt #, and then she asked me to read the first two sentences from my NOA2 document. The NOA2 document says the following:

" The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate."

She told me that because the notice says that it's been forward to the consulate, you should call them there. I asked her whether it's supposed to reach NVC first, and that it would be forwarded from NVC to the appropriate consulate, and she said that sometimes it goes directly to the consulate.

Anyone know if this is true? Do the first two sentences in your letter indicate being forwarded to the consulate or NVC? Thanks!

My NOA2 start just like yours. " The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate."
