HELP... Affidavit of support and joint assets

Hi there, me and my husband are stuck with affidavit of support. He has only just landed a new job and still does not earn enough money to be able to meet the requirements.

All our friends do not meet the requirement either and we have no one else we can approach. My family in the UK meet the requirements but cannot file for me as they are not us citezen or have residence in the states.

Is there any advise that anyone could give to us? We where thinking about borrowing money from my parents in the UK to deposit in our bank account of the amount of 60k to meet the cash assets of 3 times the amount? Or the other option was to borrow money from parents to buy a condo in both our names?

Can anyone shine any light on any advice or help as we really are stuck at this hurdle and don't know what else to do and we don't want to submit our i-130 until we have everything else ready as we don't want to be delayed once we start the process. Another person told me to go over to the states and apply for AOS and then once I get my work permit to land a job, that way to join our income together and that would be accepted too?

Sounds like you have not started the process so he has a year or so to meet the requirements.

When using cash, CO's typically want to see that amount of money in the account over a period of time, not have it appear as one bug deposit shortly before the interview.

If you need $20,000 income and he only makes $15,000 for example, then his shortfall is $5000. The assets need to be 3x$5000 or $15000. Get your parents to put a chunk of money in your name now so you have had it for a long time. You are married, so your assets count too as family income on the I-864.

The condo idea would not be as useful as cash money.
