DHS intelligence report warns of domestic right-wing terror threat

Washington (CNN)They're carrying out sporadic terror attacks on police, have threatened attacks on government buildings and reject government authority.

A new intelligence assessment, circulated by the Department of Homeland Security this month and reviewed by CNN, focuses on the domestic terror threat from right-wing sovereign citizen extremists and comes as the Obama administration holds a White House conference to focus efforts to fight violent extremism.

Some federal and local law enforcement groups view the domestic terror threat from sovereign citizen groups as equal to -- and in some cases greater than -- the threat from foreign Islamic terror groups, such as ISIS, that garner more public attention.​

To be extreme is against the law? Hardly. There are laws that are clearly defined that if you break it, then you can be prosecuted. That includes extreme chocolate eaters. Excluded are extreme white hating racists and extreme islamic radicals. Included is ISIS, but don't say islamic.

It's the ideology and timing of this CNN article. It's so clear the white house is in damage control mode and working hard to shift focus from the ignorant prez, failed policies, and mass murder happening across the globe. So, let's talk about Timothy McVeigh.

what? the tsarnaev brothers lived here, for quite some time. they were on watch lists but we missed the red flags or didn't take their threat seriously. shouldn't the homeland be the primary focus? i mean. dept of homeland security..

no i get that, while they weren't homegrown, they were certainly living among us unnoticed. i don't believe they moved here initially to carry out an attack, or did they? i haven't been paying attention.

If that were the goal, wouldn't it be more prudent to focus on the improving economy, rising home sales, the stock exchange reaching new highs almost daily and the falling unemployment rate? Funny how you right wingers love to slam Obama for his so called failed policies, yet all of what I listed is true. Doesn't sound like failed policies to me, it sounds more like improvement and success.

That remains to be see. From what I've heard so far, they became more radicalized after moving here. The older brother hooked up with a radical cleric and it all went downhill from there. It also appears the Mother harbored a deep seeded hatred for the US as well.
