If you were married in 2014, then yes, amend it later. It won't really matter to the IRS, but it will matter for immigration, especially later for filing to remove conditions or if you want to get US citizenship down the line.

My husband and I were married January 2014 and I filed my taxes "head of household" .

Will this cause a problem later on?

(I filed this way because he doesn't have a social security #, nor an ITIN number)

For the evidence you will need later for ROC and if he wishes to become a US citizen, then you may want to amend it later after he has an SSN. You should have gotten his SSN right after he entered with the K-1, then you would not have had to wait for him to get the EAD or green card in order to get the SSN.
