Coming to the US!

Hi, everyone. My fiance's visa was approved and he's planning on coming the 1st of March.

Couple of questions...

First of all, any suggestions on him bringing his stuff over? bringing it all on the airplane seems like a huge hassle, but shipping would be expensive and wouldn't we have to do a bunch of paperwork for that (as he's moving to the us from another country, doesn't he have to declare what he's bringing or something?)

Also, my fiance wants to volunteer for a few months as opposed to working. Does he require a work permit for that?

Thanks everyone!

LEsley

What you do or not bring with you is a personal issue, I did not bring much, cost of shipping versus real value, most whent.

Volunteering is OK as long as it is not in a job the could be paid.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Check with each specific airline, because they do vary. For instance, when I have travelled to Mexico thru Mexicana, the weight limit is 70 lbs. However, for Delta, the weight limit is 50 lbs. So they do vary, check out the specific airline your fiance will travel on.
