So once the K-1 is approved (specifically at the TSC). About how long are we looking at having our fiancé enter the U.S.? Realistically, about two months extra?

About a month with the NVC process? And a month for the interview?

Or can the process actually be shorter after the TSC approval?

Also, what is the Packet 1, 2, and 3 that I've been seeing in the timelines? Do I have to gather those packets together?

After approval it can take between 2 to 8 weeks for the NVC to receive your case and send it to the consulate. Once at the consulate I don't know how long it would take, because it varies. It could be a few weeks or a few months. In our case it took us 5 weeks after approval before the NVC had our case and almost 2 months after the embassy already had our case until my wife had her interview.

:guides: specifically the K1 flow chart which gives you a good over view. I would say NOA2 to visa in hand is usually 2-3 months but with unexpected side tracks can take longer. Good luck!

Just trying to get you to use the correct language:

So once the K-1 is approved (specifically at the TSC).

Actually the Petition for a K-1 is approved by USCIS....the Embassy is the one that approves and issues the K-1 visa.

About how long are we looking at having our fiancé enter the U.S.? Realistically, about two months extra?

Usually more like 3 months.

About a month with the NVC process? And a month for the interview? Figure 2 months at the Embassy.

Or can the process actually be shorter after the TSC approval?

Always can be.....just depends. One really shouldn't try to guess at this because there are so many factors that can derail any thinking of planning.

Also, what is the Packet 1, 2, and 3 that I've been seeing in the timelines? Do I have to gather those packets together?

London specific inquire, see the Regional Forum for best answers.

London guide can be found here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/

By the way, packet one is NOA1, packet two is NOA2, packet three is a letter from the embassy (london in our case) outlining the next steps and packet four is your interview letter. It's not things you gather, it's information you receive.

The current average time at London can be viewed right here. Look for London on the page. http://www.visajourney.com/content/consulate-k1-historical

Today is says 82 days from the time it arrives in London from the NVC.

So estimating whatever to get to NVC and 2.75 months to get to the interview day. That is the average of ALL K1s on Visa Journey with a London timeline. Some are faster and some are slower. You REALLY can't plan a timeline.

Recent people with London interviews:

John and Amy interview yesterday-5 months since NOA2

Pheebs interview Tues-3 months from NOA2

DaveNot - 3 months from NOA2

Shana.mike - interview in March- 4.25 months once NOA2

Rosie1523- interview tomorrow 3.5 months since NOA2

Then there is 7-10 days for the visa to be issued and delivered.

I know for my fiance and I, I would of had my interview in December as the US embassy received our petition in November, but because I had a delay receiving a Greek Police clearance I am now just having my Interview in March this year. So I think you have to take that into consideration as well that there could be delays with documents, depends on you as an individual, it is definitely a good idea to apply for your birth certificate and police clearances early.
