FBI name check

are there anybody still waiting name check?and how long?

Wow!

That seems like a long time. I don't know how long it takes, (we're not that far into the process yet... should be soon) but it seems like anything over a year is excessive. Have you contacted anyone?

our NOA2 was approved in march 2006 and they sent our case for the name check on the next day. So, it's going to be a year in a month. We contacted everybody and everything we could. Congresspeople, Senator, called NVC (which is never useful), FBI, called NVC officers (not their call center). ALL was useless. Last time we contacted our congresswoman, we finally found out that our case is in FBI. Well, we knew it was in some agency, just were not sure what agency exactly. So she said FBI won't allow anyone to call them, just a few, and not that often, she says they are 100,000 cases behind. There is a backlog of 100,000 cases. Pending. So, the FBI is not keeping up.

We applied 14 months ago.

we have been waiting 8 mos since our AOS interview... ... but look on the bright side, you are probably closer to leaving fbi name check hell than i am....
