Oath Taking scheduling question

Hello Vj'ers,

Quick question. My interview date is set for 3/17. I checked the oath taking ceremonies schedule here in Los Angeles and it is set for 3/18. Do you guys know if, assuming I pass my interview, they will schedule me for the oath taking the next day? Or is this too soon and I should expect to be included in the April batch? I ask because I am trying to schedule days off with my employer and would like to give proper lead time if they do schedule me for oath taking the next day.

thHi, There is a good chance that you will be scheduled for march 18th probably for the 1 pm ceremony( 5000 is expected). Assuming that the person who interviews you is a supervisor to approve you on the spot. I have seen fellow VJ members in LA given there oath letters on the spot after the interview. Usually the officer asks if you want to have it that day

How long do you usually have to notify your employer for a day off?

I usually want to give at least 1 week notice. The interview date wont be a problem. I can actually ask for 2 days just in case but i didnt want to "waste" a vacation day if there was no chance of being scheduled for the next day. But good to know that it has actually happened before.
