Received EI at beginning of 2014 and they are refunding the taxes? Thoughts?

I paid non-resident tax in the 25% amount of about $3000 I received from EI at the beginning of 2014. I had benefits up until February and took advantage of them.

I just threw a tax-return together very quickly using turbo tax and it is saying I'm getting back all of my non-resident taxes that I paid. Does that sound right? Even if I put in income for me from the U.S. it is still giving me the money back.

Thoughts and guidance are appreciated.

I actually thought I was going to be done with taxes but was curious to see what it came up with so I filled in the blanks and voila. I would not mind getting that money back but I feel like it's too good to be true.

Again, all thoughts are appreciated.

Something similar happened to me when I moved; the 25% deduction that was taken "overtaxed" me and I received a refund for the difference.

I have found the International Tax people at the CRA to be quite helpful: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/cntct/ntrntnlnqrs-eng.html(I am still paying Canadian taxes as my income is not taxable in the US/weird situation)
