What hotair reported was just that - hot air. They always do.

I'll repeat it again for those that are a bit slower on the uptake and for those occupying the cheap seats in the back: The actual point made is that there is neither an easy nor a purely military solution. It's a complex issue that requires a complex response. It requires a hell of a lot more than the military will ever be able to deliver. It is worth remembering that ISIS grew out of the very military adventure that we stupidly began a dozen years back.

She actually did. Now, there are too many people relying on news sources that even a 6 year old is too smart to rely on but that does not change what Marie Harf actually said during the interview. It helps listening to what she actually said. Not once did she even remotely suggest that a job fair will somehow take care of the problem. She made very clear throughout the interview that terrorism will not be eradicated on the battlefield but that a broader approach - which includes a military component to address the immediate threats - is required. That is what she said and if you would once look beyond the headlines coming out of the right wing echo chamber, you might be able to pick that up. But I'm not going to hold my breath on that.

I disagree. The initial post and its premise is so inane that turning it into a cogent discussion would dignify it in an unwarranted manner. Being dumb is actually responding in kind and keeping it at the level intended by the op.

No, there isn't. These kind of threads are, of course, not started as a means to have a rational discussion. They are started merely to transport whatever spectacular nonsense someone picked up on some obscure website into this forum.

You'd think that the mod team would have more interest in policing that than they actually do.

Imo there should be a minimum quality standard for posting about political topics. That's often how it's done on other forums with the level of moderation that VJ has.
