Preparation for the NOA2

While we wait for our NOA2 is there anything we can prepare in the mean time?

I'm going to be visiting my fiancé in a few months. Are there any documents/items I should bring to him or have him sign that would lessen any delay after we receive our NOA2?

Thanks!!

The Petitioner, the American.

Duh. The petitioner is always the American. Is that you or him (fiance)?

Yes, I said I'm the petitioner.

I recommend using the Guides at the top, if you're on a non-mobile browser. Selected K1 Visa Guide. Read the section entitled "What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2): ". Because yall are so early into your process, you won't really have much you can bring him right now.

Edit: It's very commendable that you're trying to be so proactive though.

I suggest you read this list in the UK forum and then rest of the thread to learn the London specific process.

Read to the end because there are some corrections to things that have changed since it was first posted.

Also, do I/should I leave any signed documents with my fiancé before I leave? So that way I won't have to mail them at a later date...

The petitioner's part is pretty limited after NOA2. You will do an Affidavit of Support and supply proof of income. It would be better to have those documents fresh around the time your petition is approved. You are going in "a few months." Is that two or four? If your visit will be close to when you anticipate NOA2, then you could take that with you instead of mailing it snail mail. It isn't turned in until the interview so could easily have three months to get it there after NOA2. It also doesn't have to be hot off the presses at the interview. I think mine was about 4 months old by the time of interview. (Signed form and letters).

Thanks. I plan on going in June. So for me that would be about a month to a month and a half to the estimated NOA2 date. You think it would be better just to snail mail my fiancé the affidavit rather than completing it and giving it to him before I leave at the beginning of July?

Whatever you want to do. If it's too much trouble to mail it, then prepare it in advance. There is no right or wrong answer.
