Sea-shtik! We have the same noa1 date, Jan 6.

This wait is killing me. I'm in Florida and my fiance is in scotland, 5 hour time difference :( I was able to make a 10 day visit in April but that's it, that's all we can afford for visits until this whole thing is done. I check the USCIS website every day for updates even though I know there won't be anything there lol. I read aloud the noa1 dates of everyone who got approved on this site every day to my fiance to try and give some encouragement. I'll say "look a December got through today so maybe a January will slip through next month and it'll be us!"

I feel the same way as superzoe!! I always think that we might be that one case that will be approved soon! But I truly doubt it! I'm just upset that all new cases get sent to CSC while we are stuck at Texas! I don't understand how that makes any sense! UGHHHHH

Sorry I had to vent!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Lately I find myself being easily angered and having very little patience. Usually I am very easy going but lately I feel like every ounce of patience I have has been drained by this process leaving me very irritable. I thought a short vacation with the kids this weekend would help take my mind off of things but it actually made it worse, a family vacation without a big part of the family just doesn't seem right. A few more months of this will surely drive me insane.

I'm sorry you're feeling so frustrated, yllas. I too really feel down celebrating and having family functions only to be missing such a part of it. I'm a very patient and determined person though. Some people ask me if I don't care as much about my SO but the truth is I'm just always calm. I feel for those who are very emotionally overwrought with this process. I hope for peace for them.

My fiance lives in Canada. I'm fortunate enough that we are on the same time zone so we can spend several hours on Skype. We rarely visit because airfare is so astronomically high that we'd both rather just save the money. He's only ever been here once and I there once. It's frustrating that we can't see each other as often as we'd like but I'm very lucky to be able to use Skype and text him through the day.

I feel for people who have fiances overseas and very rarely even get the opportunity to Skype or call afforded to them.

my fiancee in Virginia

i am from Egypt 6 ans other times 7 hours between us

i can tell how difficult that

I know exactly how everyone is feeling. I truly feel so sad and depressed whenever I am invited to an event and I can't share that with my fiancee.. I truly wish this whole visa process can just be over... :(

I wish you guys all the best!! At least its almost summer. The warm weather makes me feel a little bit better.

I feel the same way he seems so optimistic when we talk about this process like he will be here soon and I just get quiet. I have told him about the backlog but I dont think he get how bad it really is. Im going to go see him in 3 weeks and he is so optimistic that we will have the NOA2 by then and I keep thinking how my VJ timeline says late August and want to tell him but at the same time his optimism is refreshing. I feel bad about not stressing to him how much longer this could take.

Some early January filers were sent RFEs yesterday. Looks like perhaps they are picking up some Jan files.

Great!

Their consistency is severly lacking though. No wonder with the backlog I guess. You can be luck and get processed in 5 months it seems or the sucker that has to wait 8...

It's no wonder there's so much animosity on this site. I mean it's hard not to resent someone who gets approved in 150 days vs. 250.

Right now I would be more than happy to get an RFE, Im almost positive we didn't miss anything but at least an RFE would be a light at the end of this tunnel.

Ya when I first signed up I accidentally subscribed to the regular January thread and still am, got an email update today for someone whose visa was already approved and they are waiting for it to be delivered. To think if life was fair we would all be at that point right now, its way hard not to be bitter, not at the people who are getting things done quickly but at the broken process that has us in this situation of waiting with no information and just drains all emotions out of you.

Hey guys, Ive been reading these columns for a while now but first post. My fiancé is in Brazil and we have an NOA1 of jan 5. We will see eachother in June and again in August but she keeps stressing me out with this process! It's a wait and see game and she just keeps blaming me for this wait. I'm in tsc hell. Lol. Any tips? I know she is under pressure Bc of the wait and her job and things but there's nothing to say but to be positive and every time I try to be positive she throws it back at me. I'm lost on what to do. Any suggestions? I'm hoping for a late July early August approval..... Sorry had to vent hahaha

First, bem-vindo :)

It's really hard for the beneficiaries to understand the waits and what is going on. I try to tell anyone in this position that same thing. In other threads, I've seen people flat out bash the beneficiary mercilessly. But it's no one's fault. She isn't wrong for being upset. This wait is very trying on a relationship especially between people so far away and from someone who may not understand how our government works here.

My mother is Brasilian. My father married her and brought her here 23 years ago. It was hard then too and he still tells me stories of her almost giving up because of how hard it was on her raising me alone while she waited. It's a cultural thing for us brasi's to be so impatient too. Reckon I got my father's calm Canadian-New Zealander genes :P

The only thing you can do is try to stay patient with her and understanding. It's a huge burden placed on the person who has to leave everything behind and move far away to start a new life. Try to remember that her anger is just misplaced frustration and fear.
