Hi all,

It has been around 2 weeks they updated the website about my RFE receipt. Whom should I call. I found National Customer Service Center phone on the myuscis website. Is it that one or there is another one?

Thank you

Hi Vanamali:

I am not sure. My RFE instructed me to respond to an address that appears to be related with the Texas Service Center. I believe the same agent at TSC who sent the RFE will still have the file. I don't think they ever let one of us talk directly to the agent who is making the decision on the case, but I believe you should call the Texas Service Center to ask them what is going on.

BUT, definitely get another opinion as, my past posts probably show, I'm NOT exactly a genius on the process.

I hope someone else here has a suggestion for you.

Still no news :(tsc won't let me file an inquiry because there are within "normal processing time". I called the senator's office about 4 times. Just patiently waiting lol.I'm a January 20th filer anyone else in the same boat?

My fiance called up USCIS and requested to speak to a Tier 2 officer. Then he went on bitching about how we cannot file in a service request online and how frustrating it is to wait for 220+ days. The Tier 2 lady officer took pit on him and sympathized with him. She herself was an immigrant and said it took her nearly 2 years to get to the States. So she filed a service request on our behalf. Tier 2 officers can override the system. She gave us a September 11 deadline regarding getting a response for the Service Request. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I'd hear something before that.

There are still people from December 22-30th 2014 waiting for the NOA2 approval. We're just the unlucky ones stuck at the bottom of the pit. But don't worry, you're not alone in this. We'll get through this together and until all of us January filers get approved, we'll be here supporting each other.

I called them on my RFE. I was told that it will take up to 60 days and asked me to call back after 60 days. It has been so many months. It is hard to keep the matches in India for this long. :-( I am very much disappointed. I think they put by case in the wait bin as they didn't get what they wanted from me. Unfortunately, the divorce decree we submitted is the final one and I could only send a lawyer notice.

Hello Everyone:

I am sending my RFE response on Monday Sept 14th. I have a few questions: Maybe some of you who already responded to RFE's can help guide me:

1. On the RFE papers from USCIS we are supposed to put a certain page on top which asks us to check a box regarding a G-28 form. There are two choices: 1. Yes there is new G-28. 2. No, there is not a new G-28. The G-28 form is for Notice of Appearance of an Attorney. I never had any attorney file any Appearance for us before the USCIS. Should I check the box that says: "No, there is not a new G-28" or should I leave this blank?

(Number 1 is a little tricky because I am submitting an explanation letter from a Japanese Lawyer and I don't want USCIS to think he is representing us for the whole K-1 process.)

2. I have to send this RFE response to a P.O.Box in Texas. I want to track it, be able to prove they received it, and I also want to get it there as quickly as possible. I know a certified letter can't go to a PO Box because there is no one to sign for it. Any suggestions on best way to mail an RFE response so I can track it, prove they received it AND get it there quickly.

I really appreciate any suggestions.

Eric

Hi Eric, I've never filled out one of those forms before or had an RFE but I feel like honesty and being transparent is really important. So if there is no new G28 then tick that option.

When I sent my petition I sent it through USPS with signature and delivery confirmation requirement. While it took longer than I would have liked, I knew exactly when a USCIS rep picked up my petition because he had to sign for it.

I filed January 7th and we have yet to hear a peep.

We contacted His Congressman a few weeks ago and we just got a letter from them say "we are looking into things".

I'm not sure what that means. And every time we call in, the person sounds irritated with us, and more often than not they hang up on us.

This whole process is really starting to take its toll.

I just recently lost my brother, and being forced to realize how short life is, all i want to do is be with my fiancé. It makes me so sad to be away from him. (As I'm sure you all know this feeling).

I hope we all hear some answers soon, because truthfully this is outrageous.

Did anyone else notice that when their processing times updated they only moved forward one day?

So last time it said "as of March 20 we are processing December 20"

And now it says "as of June 30 we are processing December 21"

Oh yeah ok guys.

Hi Stephanie: Thanks so much for your thoughts. I agree. I would never even think of being dishonest or one billionth of a photon less than completely transparent when dealing with USCIS or any government agency. But, I am a little confused because no G-28 was ever filed. They are asking if a "new" one is being submitted. The questions seem to apply when there is an existing G-28, that's why I asked. I am curious what other RFE responders did.

It is relevant to me because I am including an attorney's opinion but do NOT want USCIS to assume that lawyer is now representing me and so they start sending correspondence to him. That would be bad because he is in Tokyo. I just don't want them to start getting confused. I made it clear in my draft cover letter that he is not appearing for us, but only providing an advisory letter about Japanese divorce law and how our RFE response document indicates compliance with all procedures to effectuate a mutual consent divorce in Japan, but who knows if they actually read the cover letters.

One item in the RFE asks for some US related information that was already proven on documents submitted with the I-129f, but they obviously failed to read the entire document. So, they miss things, which is understandable given the mass of papers they have to sort through.

I did some research and to get a signature for a letter sent to a P.O. Box it appears that the Postal Service just leaves a notice in the Box that a letter requiring signature is waiting for them at another location. I'm concerned about USCIS not taking the extra step to actually go to a place other than the P.O. Box to get the RFE response. Maybe they have no problem with that and do it routinely. I do like the idea of knowing when they physically receive it. However, I couldn't find any specific policy they have regarding receipt of mail.

Anyway, I appreciate your help as always and wish you luck on your upcoming interview!!!! I hope everything goes great.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how much you want your fiancé with you especially with your situation. I am January 20th filer and no peep. I too feel like they are annoyed lately when I call. They have no answers or any clue about the processing times. I did get one guy who was really nice and said they have a chart that they can view that we can't, but that was about a month ago and that one wasn't updated either. I know it's really hard but as my fiance said to me the other day, to remember we are closer to the end of this. We will soon find out, the chart is usually updated around the 18th of every month I'm hoping they will finish a month and if no news we can file an inquiry. Stay hopeful, it will happen :)
