Wow Dana and Rosanny,

I imagine people would be more inclined to respond if you were slightly less of a brat. Also realize that you've had the luxury of being with your loved one for 6 MONTHS. Far more time than I've ever spent with my fiancé altogether. There are many couples who are forced to be APART from their finances for 6 months.

excellent point, I haven't seen my fiance since March and that was for 2 weeks, before that was September of 2014. I wouldn't be as anxious if I was with him.

I'm a January 20th filer and haven't heard anything back yet, that individual is not the only person who hasn't heard anything back. You are right this is to support each other through this and personally, I am happy for all of those who are approved and I'll be happily posting on here once I hear a response. It's out of all of our control on who gets approved before others, so there's no one to blame.

I agree with you Tekejian. There are still many of us January Filers waiting for our NOA2. I know it's frustrating and USCIS is not fair and transparent about their visa processing system, but it's not right to blame other fellow petitioners or to call them names. I had last seen my fiance in December 2014 and it's been more than 8 months since I've seen him. So people who had the chance of visiting their fiance should have it a bit easier than the rest of us. I would say contact your congressman, Senator or even ask for a Tier 2 officer from the USCIS to file a service request on your behalf and you'll hear something about your case with the next 15 days. I'm expecting a reply about my case by 11th of September.

If its already been sent to the embassy you should be able to track it the website is ceac.state.gov make sure you are going to the immigrant section and not nonimmigrant

I have read from other people that sometimes it takes a few days for the number to show up, and that they kept getting error messages, even when looking in the right place and having the right number. Keep trying, it should work eventually!

Hello January filers I would like to apologize to those I have offended the other day. It was wrong of me to judge or say the things I said when I don't know any of you. Even my wife to be called me an ####### for saying what I said and she's right I felt bad about it immediately afterwards. It was a knee jerk reaction of me to post what I did and it was childish and I apologize for that. Many of us are in the same boat trying to see our loved ones but we all are in different situations. I've been fortunate to be able to stay with her while we go through this ordeal, but soon we will be apart from each other once again. Its just extremely frustrating that we haven't heard anything period as I was hoping and expecting to have heard something by now. It is what it is we're both moving forward and preparing to opt out of the k-1 and start a life together outside of the US. Best of luck to all those still waiting and currently going through the process.

Hello everyone. So I got a quick question. Last Thursday, Texas sent our case to the NVC for processing. I was curious to know how I will know when the NVC has received our case? Will my case change on the USCIS case tracker or is it one of those times when I would need to call? Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi there! Congrats on having your case sent to NVC!

Since it's been a few days, they may not yet have your case. But I recommend on Friday to start calling the NVC to ask if they have your case and a number yet. Then you will be able to begin tracking your case on the CEAC website. At this point, the USCIS website will no longer update.

Ok then. Thanks for the help. I was using the USCIS app on my phone to tack our case. I guess I will just delete that now. I will call them on Friday and see if there is any update.

Hello Everyone:

I hope everyone who hasn't heard yet is hanging in there.

Clawren, congrats on moving forward. I am very happy for you.

Vanamali, and word on your RFE? I hope you are getting some good news!!!!

I got an RFE asking for proof of fiance's divorce. Vanamali and I are sort of in the same bind because our fience's divorces were not done in a Court. In my fiance's case it was a Japanese divorce done in the Mayor's office. This is legal in Japan. Anyway, we hired a lawyer in Japan to write a letter of explanation. I have a new document to send that I didn't send with the i129f, so that is good. But I think the USCIS is gonna look at this new document and have no clue on Earth what it is. Thus, we hired the lawyer to write the letter of explanation.

It'll take a couple of weeks to get that Japanese lawyer's letter but I'm terrified to just send in the divorce document I have because without an explanation letter I think USCIS will feel we didn't respond to the RFE and just deny us flat out. (Not a good feeling).

Anyway, here is what I am expecting the Japanese lawyer's letter will say. I hope it is sufficient to explain the situation to them. (Everyone is saying USCIS accepts non-judicial divorces if they are legal in the country where the foreign fiance lives. I sure hope so.) Anyway, I just hope with all my heart this lawyer's letter makes it clear enough the divorce is legal:::

To Whom It May Concern

Regarding United States Citizenship and Immigration Services

USCIS Receipt Number SRCxxxxxxxxx

I, Kxxxx Kanaxxxxx, am an attorney admitted to the bar in Japan.

At the request of Eric A and Kim Gxx Rxxx, I have reviewed the Certificate of Acceptance, Divorce Notification, regarding Kim Gxx Rxxxx, with a date of Notification of February 22, 2010 and Issue No: 15-xxxxx from the Midori Ward Office of Urawa. I am able to confirm that this is the official document which establishes final and complete proof of legal termination of the marriage of Kim Gxx Rxxxxx and Kaxxxx Takaxxxx in Japan on February 22, 2010, pursuant to a legally recognized divorce procedure specified in Article 763 of the Civil Code of Japan and which is completed through the relevant municipal office.

In Japan, in addition to divorce before a Court, the law provides for divorce by mutual consent under Civil Code, Article 763 and there is a procedure to complete such a divorce under Article 763 by submitting documents in accordance with Japanese Family Registration Law (Family Register Act 1, Paragraph 1, Article 25 and Article 76). Once the proper documents are reviewed and accepted, the municipal office will issue, under the seal of the Mayor, the Certificate of Acceptance, Divorce Notification. The originally submitted documents are not now available, as it is the Certificate of Acceptance, Divorce Notification, which establishes the final and absolute termination of the marriage and no additional procedures are required once the Certificate of Acceptance, Divorce Notification is issued. (Japan Civil Code Article 764 and Article 739, Paragraph 1).

This Certificate of Acceptance, Divorce Notification, issued by the Midori Ward Mayor on February 22, 2010 establishes that all legal and procedural requirements were followed to complete a final and absolute termination of the marriage of Kim Gxx Rxxxx and Kaxxx Takaxxxxxx, that the divorce was properly registered with that civil authority, and this Certificate of Acceptance is the sole official document in Japan available to prove the divorce.

Sincerely,

(Handwritten Signature or Seal)

Hi Ericapplebaum,

I submitted similar letter from the lawyer in India. It took couple of weeks for me also to get the lawyer letter.

They received it a week before Aug 19th. But, the website said they received it on Aug 19th. So far no update. I am just waiting. :-(

Don't know if I should call them and talk to them.

Hope we go through just fine. Do you know any case where they approved it after the lawyer letter?

NVC has sent my case to the embassy and when I checked the website it says "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center." So does it mean they have already scheduled my interview ? if so where can I find the interview date that they are referring?

I know each embassy is different but the Turkey embassy only wants to forms DS-160 NONIMMIGRANT and Form I-134, is that all? I thought there were more forms in package 3... Also I am a little confused about the nonimmigrant vs immigrant visa... in CEAC I had to select Immigrant visa to obtain information about my case but it the USVISA.gov says that K1 is nonimmigrant...
