Hello all,

I got the RFE for the divorce decree of my fiancee. It seems the document we gave is not the final decree. I went through the lawyer and she did not tell me. My mistake I relied on them completely. Note to all our 'selfs'...even if you hire a lawyer you verify it yourself. My lawyer put my case in the hands of the part-timers. :-(

Thank you

Hi Vanamali:

I am a Jan 13 NOA1 and am anticipating an RFE for failing to include what is considered a final divorce decree. Do you have the correct document to send back in response to the RFE?

I hope this doesn't cause too much more delay for you.

i-751 Sent 1/7/19
i-751 Received 1/9/19
Check Cashed 1/14/19
(G-1145 Email Receipt of case #: Never Received)
1/15/19: Called USCIS and given EAC Case Number

Hey Eric! I am a January 13th filer and still haven't heard!:/

Hello Zapatavonancken:

We're both Jan 13th NOA1's. I still have heard nothing. I sent a request to my Congressman to make an inquiry for me. We'll see if that does any good.

Have you heard anything yet?

Hi ericapplebaum,

Just be ready with the correct document. It took 10 days for me to get the RFE in mail after the update on the website. But, somebody said they got it in 2 days. Either way be ready. When we get an RFE usually it adds 1 month.

Also, I know how it feels to see all the approvals for the dates past your date and still go through the RFE. I wish you all the best.

Thanks Vanamali:

Yes, I have a new divorce acceptance document which my fiancé got from a City office in Japan and I have already had it translated. So, I am ready to respond.

Unfortunately, there has been no action of any kind on my NOA1. Many people with NOA1 dates after mine have been approved or received an RFE. The recommendation at the bottom of my Visa Journey timeline says that I should have heard something by July 27, so it looks like something may be wrong with my Petition. I have asked my Congressman to contact the TSC for me to see what is going on. This week I am going to also ask one of my Senators to intervene as well. I just want some sort of response. I think most of the January filers on this site have heard something already on their NOA1. Me...nothing, and I'm a Jan 13.

Anyway, I do hope you RFE is acted upon quickly and you get an approval soon.

Based on Immifairy data you should be getting something any day now they have been jumping around a lot but the late January files have been getting a lot of attention.
