Missed London K-1 Interview - How to Contact? [split topic]

I am so stunned and sickened .. Today I found out that my fiance missed his scheduled K1 visa at london embassy. Why am I stunned .. Not because we did not expect it.. but because we had for well over a month been trying to contact the embassy via their internal emailing system letting them know that we had not gotten any letter or email communication and that we were concerned that a date had been scheduled. Now we are left with the pathetic option of trying to write them via the same email system that proved to be useless the last three times we wrote them in hopes of avoiding this very situation.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The above was split from an ancient thread in the Embassy/Consulate forum and placed here, for country-specific advice.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Using the London embassy contact form you need to select the option "I need to change my K1 visa appointment" from my experience they always reply to this within 24 hours if you select that option. Include the dates of all your previous attempts to contact them and hopefully they'll be able to reschedule it. Keeping my fingers crossed for you, so sorry this has happened!

Thank You Pheebs, I will try this venue .. We appreciate your experience based feed back :)

In the past we wrote using the visa status option. We let them know we were concerned about the time line and that we had not received a letter and felt certain that one should have been sent. We expressed our concern that they might have sent a letter and that it may be lost. We still have not heard back from those emails with the first being sent Jan 11, another on Jan 22 and and a third on Jan 23 from our lawyers. The lost interview letter was evidently generated on Jan 14th and my fiance never recieved it. The second and third emails we sent would have been 6 to 7 days after the letter was sent out and I would have thought someone would have responded at that time if only to let us know that they expected us to get it anyday, Sadly no response so we were left in a dark hole with our questions and concerns in a vacuum devoid of any communication.

The only reason we have even seen the letter is that our attorney were sent a copy and they dropped the ball and it got filed away and overlooked until I called them yet again Feb 15th... Sure enough the interview had been scheduled as we feared and we had missed it Feb 3 2015. Needless to say we are frustraited with the both the lack of communication from the embassy but also with our lawyers who should have been more vigilant ...especially as we were asking the right questions and sounding alarms that something had gone wrong.

. I will try to contact them via the option you have provided. Sorry I am venting our woes. I am sure others have had trials along the way. TY

I completely understand, I never received my packet three and was terrified my interview letter would receive the same fate so I harassed them via the contact form daily to ensure my interview information was sent to me via email also! I hope it gets sorted quickly! Be sure to include your case number when you email them!

Well I guess I'm just lucky that I'm so stubborn... we also had a deadline to meet as I'm supposed to be at my sister in laws wedding on March 1st, so just praying I get my visa/passport back in time to fly there!

I truly wish you all the best and please keep us updated!

I missed my appointment on Monday 18th May due to reasons I dont want to go into, just a huge panic on both fiance and my side. We contacted them several hours before to let them know wouldn't be attending,so its not like we didnt just show up.

However we have now emailed multiple times on the reschedule appointments page, I have handwritten a letter AND my fiance emailed the US citizens email london contact. We have not had ANY response. I am very worried. We wanted to reschedule to later on in the year when we could afford all the AOS stuff.....

Any info would be great.

If this is the form you used http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html then they will contact you when they have something scheduled. They don't normally give you a new date as soon as you email them.

Hi! We missed our appointment in March and were able to reschedule with no problems. (We actually requested that it be rescheduled for mid to end of May and we got a new one for tomorrow, May 22!)

I used the contact form: http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

Prior to the original interview date, I sent a contact form to change the appointment (I ticked the 2nd box: I wish to reschedule my immigrant or K visa interview") and I did not hear back at all. About a week later, I sent a follow up form and ticked the 3rd box "I wish to know the status of my immigrant or fiancé visa application." About 5 days later, I received an email from them saying that they would be rescheduling the interview and that we would be contacted in writing with the new appointment closer to the date of the interview.

Mid-April I sent another (ticking the 3rd box on the form again) asking very politely if they had set a new date, and basically their response was that my interview date would be sent "in due course" hehe basically code for "Be Patient!" The next one I sent was May 5, in which I asked a question about the my fiance's medical validity/expiration. They didn't respond to this one, but I did receive the new interview letter that week! And on CEAC Visa Status Check, the last touch was on May 6, so I'm thinking my question might have been a sort of a reminder for them to reschedule it during our requested time frame.

Anyway, long story short--you will be able to reschedule. If you are a little sneaky like me and pester them once in a while with polite questions via the contact form, it may help.

Good luck!!

Also-- You have to use your visa within 6 months of your medical, so keep that in mind. Otherwise you will have to re-do part of the medical (I actually asked about this in a separate post and that was what the advice was.) http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/547164-medical-validity-and-rescheduling-interview-advice-please/ Luckily our new appointment was scheduled before the medical validity expired, so I haven't researched further into when or how to actually redo medical.
