Well, I am joining the club of people stuck in the FBI name check. Interview went really well, the guy was super nice and helpful. He explained everything about FBI name check. Aksed us a few basic questions, asked marriage certificate and documents with both names on it. Didn't want to see any photos. Then he said we are approved pending FBI name check. He said that it depends on how fast they get a response from the countries that they send this request to. He was impressed on how well we were prepared. Oh well....

I am majorly depressed now, and am begging my husband to move back to Canada with me where I feel welcome and at home.

So, that was it. There is nothing I could do.

Well congrats on the pending approval .. I hope your wait isn't long for the name check ! Sucks big time to have to wait @ all though .. as far as moving to Canada .. i feel your pain ! I miss Canada so so soooooo MUCH !! we plan to live there one day .. but for now being here is best for everyone " sigh " .. Good Luck

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. At least you have your EAD now, can get a job, and have something to occupy yourself with while waiting. The worst is having to wait with nothing to do but twiddle your thumbs all day.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the countries they check are the ones you've lived in since the age of 16 (like the police records done for K1)? What are they checking for? Criminal records, past run-ins with immigration, involvement in terrorist activities, etc.?

most people are cleared in a matter of a couple of months. its a comparatively small percentage who get stuck for more that 6 months.

Thanks jasman0717 No, it was some government building in 34 Civic Center Plaza, off the Flower Street. It was near the courthouse my husband is telling me.
