Hi,

I was married to a US citizen and just got divorced a month before my conditional Green Card expires. According to attorneys, I have enough proof of a bona fide marriage to get a waiver.

But my question is: I was originally going to have the same attorney file my waiver that took care of my divorce (my ex-husband filed for divorce), but now I've had a consultation with another attorney and she did it may look fishy to the IO if I use the same attorney for my immigration case, and of course I don't want to take any chances but there is a big difference in fees.

I'm not sure what to do and really hope to get some help here to ease my mind.

Thank you all!!

Lots of people use the same attorney for lots of different reasons. Its their job. Your attorney is only there to help you with the paperwork, just that. The IO is going to ask questions about you and your marriage and divorce, not who helped you fill out the paperwork.
