me and my wife had successful interview last Thursday in Doha, but I believe its totally difference than other consulates.

we got the 2NL on Dec, 14 for Feb interview.

on Dec 22, we received a call from the embassy to check our email.

in the email they requested us to submit all the required documents (originals + copies) plus photos and medicals. and to be submitted to the consulate by first week of January, and we did.

Interview;

last Thursday we reach the embassy around 9:00 AM, went through security check, then entered to the visa section.

the officer called us, returned the original documents to us, paid the fees, then we wait for the CO to call us.

after 20 mins he called us, toke our fingerprint, then asked us to wait outside, then called us again after 10 mins.

he started with my wife ( principal) few questions, then my self. like how long you are together, where you work, how long you are living in Qatar, and you will move to the US.

That`s it. then he said done, we will call you by next week. By 11:30 we were out.

yesterday we go a call that our passports are ready to collect.

Today we received the passports and the envelopes. with validity of 6 month.

every thing was very smooth and the consulate staff are so kind and friendly.

willing to make the big move on July.

Thank you to everyone in this forum, and appreciate your kind support.

best luck to all.

Hello Everyone

i submitted my DS-260 Form and i got an email that i have my interview in March.

i observed that Many of the members say that " they got a call from the Embassy to prepare the documents and they went to the embassy and provided

the requested documents after that they got an interview date "

actually i got confused , as no one called me or asked me for anything , they just told me in the email to prepare all DOCs with me during the interview.

please advise .

What embassy are you interviewing at, and where did you see "many members" post that? Was it in a forum for your country? There are only a couple of embassies that require prior submission of documents - most of them do not contact applicants beforehand at all.

KSA , i saw it here in the forum , no it was not in the forum of KSA .

i thought it is a general rule that i have to submit my documents before the interview.

thanks Susie so much for clarification.

  • 3 weeks later...

Congrats...I have had the same experience, i got the visa last October and i am planning to travel to the US in few weeks for 10 days until i resign and clear some issues back in my home country. However, the embassy sent me an email few days ago asking for the CD-R (digital copy) of my X-ray. They sent me for an appointment that will take 15-30 mins and requested that i bring my visa package along with the CD-R. Though i think its gonna be a regular update to my information, i thought sharing this might be helpful.
