Procedures to involve Congress (split topic)

What's the procedure to get congress involved?

Our petition is at the Nebraska Center and the latest reports are that it's taking more than 5 months... We would like to have everything ready for when that 5 month mark hits so we can contact congress immediately..

You can find out who your Representative in Congress by going to http://www.house.gov/and entering your zip code in the box under "Find Your Representative" in the upper right corner of that page.

You also have the option of contacting one of your state's two Senator's. They can be found on http://www.senate.gov/

Go the website of whomever you decide to contact and follow given directions for having their office send a query on your behalf. Some offices tend to be more helpful towards their constituents than others. Another thing to know is the actual Representative or Senator won't be the one who makes the actual inquriy, it will be the staffer or staffers they have who are dedicated to immigration matters for their office that does it.
