Check the news... A judge has blocked Obama's executive actions on immigration (temporarily until a lawsuit against him is resolved). So USCIS and NVC will not get backlogged by tons of new cases of illegal immigrants any time soon. No more Feb 18! Hopefully they can now concentrate on the legal immigrants.

The Administration will likely file an emergency appeal to the Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, so there's a good chance they will issue a stay of this ruling and nothing will change (and DACA 2 and DAPA will continue).

There's always that chance. I am hoping that they will see continuing though will severly impact the probability of proper litigation in the other trial. If some people are approved then the courts decide that the executive action was indeed overreach and it gets thrown out, what happens to them? Hopefully the circuit will see the possible issues with issuing a stay....

I think it's likely the 5th Circuit will grant a stay given how important the case is.

The District Judge who ruled today did not rule on the merits of the case, but instead ruled that the Obama administration did not fully promulgate the DACA 2 + DAPA regulations correctly, as required by the Administrative Procedure Act.
