You received a false positive and they felt bad about it and are expediting (admin error) which means that SD 3/18 needs to be purged and 1/8 SD resulted in a CC.

FYi- The expedited part should be you receiving an interview sooner than other applicants.

By the way I know that NVC is quoting that reviews are around 2/20 but my better guess would be it's more in the 3/2 - 3/3 area.

I understood that there was an attempted attack on the U.S. Embassy in Kingston Jamaica on 4/01/15. I believe this might have caused some delays with NVC.

Interesting statement that you received, modon. It is really astonishing to me to hear that the government cannot predict the timeline on its own action.

One would think there is a standard procedure or guideline for any government action. At least, some context information on what factors make things unpredictable must be available.

Thank you... I'll post again when I receive confirmation from the consulate.

Some more information that I aquired today from NVC on the phone. The following applies to the expedited cases, but it may also apply to the cases that were provided an interview date from NVC.

  • The CEAC status is 'most always' delayed, so, the phone call is more telling about the status of the case or about the shipment of the files.
  • The expedited cases are sent out to the Consulate in batches.
  • There is no standard timeline between the expedite request approval and sending out the case. This last point is not compliant with the information that I received yesterday as I was told that there is a timeline of 48 hours for NVC to send out the case.
  • Interestingly enough, through DHL tracking I see that since my case was approved for expeditious processing this Monday, there were already two shipments to my Consulate. One - yesterday, and one - the day before. So many batches (?)
